PS Demo?

yeah, there is a offline part, i just thought it'd be cool to have so we can see if it works on your computer, to see how the vechilces handle, and to practise using them

I should clarify that...
I seem to remeber they said it was just a quick little tutorial thing, to familiarize you with the interface.

But I have a notoriously poor memory for these things, anyone else remember hearing about this?

Since not everybody will get in beta i do think a downloadable tutorial like Neocron had would be cool. Just 1 training level that would get you familiar with the main aspect of the game. It would be sweet! :D

it'd be cool if they had a demo of like the VR training thing, just so you could test out the people and weapons and vehichles and stuff.

About that VR Training. Is there a way to test out every faction so you know which one you want? Cause sure I'm going with NC at the moment, but I dont know how they handle as opposed to TR or VS.

with the VR training, you can only test out the stuff that your empire gets, but you can test out anything, you don't need certs, but you can only test out your empires stuff and the common pool, you need to join a diff empire if you want to test out their stuff, and you have to delete your char to do that or go to a different server, :)

I think a downloadable tutorial or demo would be nice.

Not that I need it to convince me to buy the game since I've already preordered it, but I'd still like to try out the weapons sooner than may 20th :D

from what i've heard, there is NO offline for anything in this game. the training is like with players all together just like the real game, but you can test out all of the vehicles and weapons w/o certs

The VR training is only after you have selected your character and joined either TR etc

Its ok to do some basic practice, like learning to fly etc but not much good for anything else, thats gonna come by playing.....

but it does look funky

The best way is to preorder from a local shop, but if that's not available, I doubt any one company is much better than another since it mostly depends on the mail system to get your game to you. So just preorder from SOE for that matter. *shrug*

Create a char in a empire, play the VR and delete him...

Rinse and repeat til you've tried all the empiers. (assuming deleting the char(s) lets you reselect your empire, no official word on it but i consider it a given)

Or you can just make a char on a different server to test VR training whit another empire.

As for offline training, SJ did mention a quick offline tutorial.. If thats still in or not, *shrug*. Hasn't been said that they've cut it out so i'd assume its still in.
