This one (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AuOojvNLMApVdEtIU1NKenEzNzZOSWNaanFqSUVxLW c&type=view&gid=12&f=true&sortcolid=35&sortasc=true&rowsperpage=250) from Symthic.com, that everybody has been using so far to compare and review weapons in detail, is unfortunately not being updated any more since GU2.
Apparently that has something to do with these stats not being available in the game files any more. So maybe we can get this from the API? If not, then we should ask the devs to release this again, because this is most important balance info that everybody should have access to.

If there's anyone with the spreadsheet and technical skills that would be willing to give it a shot, it would be highly appreciated.

Aye its getting ridiculous, everytime we ask for a buff or just change to our MAX AI guns on NC people keep quoting some years old stats as if that means anything. Our MAX AI has been about the worth thing in the game for a while now but because years ago they were ok we've been denied it.

Would also be nice to see updated stats showing just how utterly dominant the VS guns are, perhaps then they'd stop being so stupid and realise making 1 factions guns be mega accurate is always going to make that the most powerful faction.

I just checked http://stats.dasanfall.com. Apparently it's not provided by the API because their weapon stats are outdated as well (I wish you could compare weapons on that site btw).

The worst part are the tanks.
People still use 1 year old tank calculator to talk about tank balance.

Yeah, there's a lot of outdated stats floating around and without any reliable weapon statistics all these balance discussions become really empty.

Www.Symthic.com is actually a very good site for BF/COD weapon stats but unfortunately there's just no motivation there for doing the same with this game.
I talked to the guy over there responsible for the outdated sheet everybody always used and he has basically given up on it. Too much work, Googledocs sucks (why not use Excel online, it's free as well) and he probably doesn't play the game anymore.

What I really don't understand is that PS2 related websites haven't jumped into this vacuum. These stats are being checked all the time so it's a great way to attract regular trafic.

Hell, why hasn't PSU jumped on this opportunity yet?

Well dude, if I knew how to do it, I would do it for free to psu, I really think this site need all visits and money it can get, and maybe the nanites will stop reconstructing the forum everytime I want to post.

I have seen this sort of statement before about the VS guns being so much better, or "utterly dominant" as you put it. I play across all 3 factions and I have not found this to be the case at all.

What I have found, is that most platoons, regardless of faction, in a quiet moment, will commonly start moaning in chat or voice about how their faction has rubbish stuff. And how the other faction/s have massively overpowered stuff.

In general, I find that numbers, and tactics win fights, not one faction having dominant guns. In conclusion, I would like to politely but completely disagree with your opinion.

Aren't the in game stats correct?

The ingame mouse-over stats are not always correct. I've frequently seen the devs not updating them correctly after a balance pass.

The real problem though is that they are incomplete. Important stats about the recoil behavior of a weapon are just not in there for instance.
