SOE is currently releasing a game update.

Patch Notes:
Known Issues:

If you bought a camo very recently before the update, your camo may not have been converted to the full set (vehicle, infantry and weapon) yet. Next week, we will be doing another operation to convert the rest. (We’re doing this to reduce game downtime.)

EU Server Issue

Adjustment to the way logins are processed which should reduce the long login issue and instability. (We’re not done working on this issue, but it’s another important step.

Spawning


Starting the game now puts you in the deploy screen instead of at the warpgate
Players can now select to spawn at a reinforcement point on another continent if there are no open reinforcement points on their current continent.
The closest spawn point to the squad leader is now available across zones

Revive Timer

Player corpses now have a 30 second decay timer. If the dead player is not revived before this timer then their corpse will be removed from the world and that player is no longer reviveable.
Successful revives now have a player-facing 10 second accept/decline timer. If this timer reaches zero then the revive is declined and that player's corpse is removed from the world.
Medics will now see the revive icon blinking as feedback when an ally player’s corpse decay timer is getting short.

Camo Consolidation

Camos for weapons, vehicles, and armor have been consolidated into one item.
All players who have purchased a camo in the past will now be able to equip that camo in all slots (if applicable; a small amount of camos have faction, vehicle, or weapon restrictions)
Single Use camos are not included in this change.

Class Quiz and Starter Loadouts

A class quiz has been added to help new players figure out which class to try first. Completing the quiz gives a reward for the class selected. All players can take the quiz when logging in to a warpgate.
Each class now begins the game with two unlocked loadout slots. These loadouts have been geared to expose each classes roles.
Existing players will have receive the additional loadout and any new items added to starter gear as part of the new loadouts

Sniper Rifles


New faction unique sniper rifles!

NC AF-8 RailJack



Cutting edge railgun tech found in Auraxis' Firearms Railjack sniper rifle allows for lightning-fast bullet velocities. Distant targets are dropped almost instantly following a split-second charge-up delay from its powerful superconductor.

TR TRAP-M1


Multiple firing modes on the TRAP-M1 give it incredible flexibility on the field. In addition to standard semi-auto fire, it utilizes a 2x burst mode for accurate long-range kills, with an additional higher RPM 3x burst mode for closer targets.

VS Phaseshift VX-S

Equipped with an experimental regenerating power core, the Phaseshift VX-S can be fired indefinitely with proper trigger discipline, or held down to fire a powerful overcharge shot. Reloading the core will cool down an overheated Phaseshift.

New common pool Nanite Systems scout rifle:

NS-30 Vandal
Thanks to its lightweight frame and stabilized barrel, the NS-30 Vandal scout rifle features accurate fire and superior mobility while aimed, making it a common choice for aggressive, mid-range infiltration.

VO Packs and VO Improvements



VO Packs can now be purchased and the new voice can be selected on the profile screen. Voice packs are specific to faction and gender.
Added occasional, contextual, automatic voice callouts:

Tossing grenade
Target-specific kill callouts (infantry, MAX, sunderer, etc)
Reloading
Healing
Repairing
Friendly fire warning

Misc

Un-owned boosts can now be viewed and purchased from the boost equip screen
Icons for each player’s class are now displayed on the passenger list
UI cleanup to the notifications menu
Horn audio can now be previewed.
The minimap/objective area of the HUD has been rearranged in anticipation of the Missions system
Sunderer No Deploy zones added to the Light Bridges at Heyoka Chemical Lab. They block deployment regardless of faction.
Nighttime on Amerish shortened and brightened. Now similar to other continents.
Redistributed infantry and areospace resources in regions around the southern warpgate on Amerish.

Balance


The NC Gauss SPR & Impetus, TR 99SV & KSR-35, VS VA39 Spectre & Phantom VA23 semi-auto sniper rifles have been improved to allow faster follow-up shots. They are also receiving an increase to damage at range and damage over time.

Recoil recovers faster, from 5 to 6
Cone of fire bloom per shot improved from 1.0 per shot to 0.8 per shot
Min damage improved from 334 at 75 meters to 334 at 85 meters
Long reload is now faster, from 3.3 to 2.975 seconds
Short reload is now faster, from 2.22 to 2.125 seconds
Hip cone of fire improved: min = 5.5, max = 6.5
In addition to the above, the NC Gauss SPR, TR 99SV, VS VA39 Spectre have had an additional recoil reduction. Vertical recoil reduced from 1.3 to 1.2 per shot.

TR 99SV & TSAR-42

Adjusted weapon position in hip so that they block less of the screen and have a smoother transition into scoped mode

TR KSR-35 & VS Phantom VA23

Now transition to iron sights faster

Semi-Auto Scout Rifles have received a damage over time increase when emptying the magazine. This includes the NC AF-6 Shadow, TR HSR-1, and VS Nyx VX31

Reload is now faster, from 2.76 to 2.4 seconds
Ammunition capacity increased from 12/72 to 12/84
Increased NC AF-6 Shadow and TR HSR-1 muzzle velocity to 570 m/s
Corrected VS Nyx VX31 muzzle velocity being set too high. It is now at 540 m/s as listed in the 02/13 patch notes

Battle rifle muzzle velocity is now faster

NC Warden & TR AMR-66 projectile velocity increased from 500 to 600
VS Eidolon VE33 projectile velocity increased from 500 to 570

NC AF-18 Stalker, TR SOAS-20, VS Artemis VX26
These no longer use sniper tracers or flyby audio. They now use carbine style tracers.

Bug Fixes

Engagement Radar will now track enemies that are no longer on the minimap
Fixed reinforcement spawn points and instant action not working correctly on Amerish
You should no longer be able to fall between the terrain and building structure at Split Peak Pass
Fixed issues at Ikanam Garrison with spawning underground and broken teleporters
Fixed issues at Ikanam Biolab where the airpad wouldn’t resupply and the jump pads were jacked.
Fixed the gravity pads and missing collision at Mekala Cart Mining
Removed some pesky pink barrels at Deep Core Geolab
Fixed an issue where single use camos could not be unequipped
Fixed a bug where the option to resupply or equip frag grenades is removed once the player runs out of their purchased amount
Fixed confirmation window having the wrong text when unlocking crossbow bolt attachments
Fixed standard spawn locations being incorrect when death happens while out of bounds

There will probably be a forthcoming consumable with a 5 minute lifespan purchaseable by SC only that will mute any auto voice callouts :bang:

Aaand of course we don't get a proper voice macro system, instead some added automatic stuff (great, spam my ears) and they just want to sell us more crap.

I knew that would be their "improvement"...but then again it was fairly obvious.
It's like they are not even trying anymore.

The TR Trap-M1 isn't a Sniper Rifle... It's a Scout Rifle.... It says it's a Sniper on the filter, but it doesn't effectively serve the Sniper role, it's a CQC weapon! Where's my Sniper Rifle?! Any NC or VS want to trade with me?!

In the VR Room it doesn't even change to the 2 or 3 shot burst modes! You see the animation of your character switching the modes and you hear the click but it doesn't actually shoot in burst mode!

I want to Snipe with a shiny new Sniper Rifle, not a Scout Rifle!

TR got royally screwed, No new Sniper Rifle, damnit!

You can just see the pain of the infils already. Takes 10 minutes to get into a great position behind the enemy. you get 2 kills move again into another great spot then reload "I'm reloading" is shouted by your char and 5 enemies decend on you and you die making it 2 kills in 15 minutes and so you roll your HA and leave your infil to rot :(

Credit where credit is due: They added some "newcomer" pack including a gun, a camo and a xp boost, where you have to answer some questions about your playstyle and can choose accordingly. Good.

However, i'm not sure how it is working, i choose "ask me later" on one character, tested it on another where i got the stuff, and now i can't seem to find it again on the first char. Is it account-bound?

EDIT: Ok, seems to be account-wide. You make the choice once and recieve the stuff on all characters.

Or you sit next to an enemy sunderer camping spawning guys and periodically shouting "Enemy Heavy" when heavy is spawned :) So funny

it is in preparation for the mission system.

and to those complaining about voice callouts:
enemies can't hear them and things such as "reloading!" or "enemy neutralised" only occur when at least 5 allies are near by, or something.

also, they are adding (and are with this update, if i am not mistaken) a "press q on teammate that needs ammo/health to yell that you can help them" thingy, which is always nice.

i wish to see a PS1-like voice callouts one day still, VGShazbot.

I suppose I can sacrifice a layout that I was already familiar and comfortable with for a layout with tiny text and icons that are hidden around the UI, as long as it means the mission system is on the way (for real this time).

Ok, I had all three mega camo bundle, just one extra camo that did not had the full set.
Several of my outfit members got the mega camo bundle just to the infantry, they also got several extra camouoflage on sale to infantry.
Guess which ones has more camouflages now, with less then half the SC!
Also, two guys that got the full dark digital set during the holiday sale for 1500 SC, now have the same camouflage that anyone can have paying 1000 SC for it.
If I receive a cert compensation for that, I wouldn´t know what to do with 40.000 certs.

About the new sniper rifles:
Like I said before:

The NC got by far the best one:
The good
More damage.
Double the standard bullets on the clip (10).
More bullet Speed.
It is the best by far.
Got killed by it several times today.
No delay to shot.
Bad ass look
Strange animation, you cant see the hand pulling something to the left, maybe it is automatic, but is is strange.
The bad
Nothing bad about it, it may be slower be ready to fire again, but no one cares and it is not even 10% slower.

The VS:
The good
No bullet drop.
It can be a bolt action if full charged or a semi auto if fired with no charge.
INFINITE AMMO
No Bullet Drop + infinite ammo = VS easy way to play.
No bullet drop + 1 hit kill + silencer = Too cheese!
A 300m silenced 1 hit kill weapon!
The bad:
Slow bullet speed, really slow, something like the first bolt action, it takes skill to hit moving target, it takes even more skill to hit full charged shots on moving targets!
It could be the best silenced on, but with charging time and slow bullet speed = do not use it on moving targets, kill enemy snipers only with silencer to dont give your position away, the perfect anti sniper rifle with possibility to kill some noobs.

Now the TR got the SABR-13 to the infiltrator!
Yeah, we got the SABR-13 to the infiltrator class!
It is not good at long range, it is not good at close range!

I got 1 hour on the VR training with my full outfit today to figure out how to properly use it:
Do not use 6x scope, never, even, the sway will make the weapon worst! Like it does to the SABR-13.
Use one of the scopes your like, From reflex 2x if you have a great aim to the 3,4 if you like it or the 4x, it really doesn´t matter, I had good effect with all scopes at all ranges.
Three firing modes:
The first two are the same that the SABR-13:
1 bullet: For stationary targets at very long range, or follow up shots if you want they all on the head of a stationary target.
2 bullets: For all ranges, aim at the center of the chest (depends on the range, but it is possible to learn fast), the second shot will be a head shot, do that twice and enemy will be dead. The first shot multiplier must be very low on that mode, like with the sabr-13
3 bullets: Do not use it, only on very close quarters, on long range shots you must aim to the leg so the second shot hits the head, if it hit! Sometime you are luck and all shots hits, most of the times you will hit only two if aiming at the knee, do not use the 3 shots mode unless on CQC that you won´t aim at the head, so you will lose anyway! Use it like the SABR at close range, 2 shots mode and aim at the head!

The new NS-30 sniper rifle can do everything this weapon does, but much better...

The SAOS-20 (the infiltrator previous useless full auto rifles) now have low recoil, and great precision, you can kill medium range enemies with half the clip, at close range all shots will land on target, this weapons is great now! Too bad I never got it because everyone agreed it was useless.

The battle rifles are like sniper rifles with less damage, they are kind of fun to use now against enemy snipers.

Everyone received the first shotgun for free.
I am just sad because I didn´t know the questionary was just for one character, I used it on my TR and I had all weapons I could select, I am sad because I could unlock a weapon with a character from another faction, but I didn´t because I didn´t know that, maybe I will open a ticket just because of that.

Don´t know what weapons the other factions can choose, I wish to know so I can ask for one on my ticket.

Also, the NS-15p is on the top of everyone heavy assault class, everyone was telling, nice another weapon free, but no one can use, and I got this question several times: how do I unlock it? And I explained it several times.
Also every time someone logged in I started talking to him before he could choose something wrong on the questionary, because before I started playing several players tried to unlock something they already have while they could get a new gun. About 1/3 of my outfit chose to unlock a weapon they already had.

This is kind of a sucky update IMO. Not to sound entitled or anything but I'm not sure if anyone's going to pay to hear more voices. I'm sick and tired of all the characters sounding pre-pubescent.

Not willing to pay to fix this, these guys should sound like men and the girls should sound like they're in a military unit, not like they're at a freaking tea party. Give the game some grit, make the voiceovers not be high-pitched whines.

I point to battlefield 3 as my example. Not that the vulgarity is necessary as this is a teen game but come on guys...
