As the title states I was only 12 or 13 at the time. Maybe thats why i've stuck around with it for so long because of the impact it had on my adolescence.

What about you? I've always wondered the mean age of the community anyways.

I actually got the game around Thanksgiving of 2003, a few weeks before my 11th birthday. I played the game for few solid months on my POS K-Mart eMachine and inevitably left the game.

I remembered the game in April 2006 and have been playing consistently ever sense. The majority of my free time during my adolescence was spent playing PS1. Without a doubt my favorite game of all time. Now that PS1 is more or less dead, no game has truly been able to fill that gap.

I tried PS2 and it just wasn't able to work for me. Tried distracting myself with a few MMOs but they too couldn't hold my attention. If PS1 is a bust after is becomes F2P I'll more than likely stop gaming as much as I once did. Except for the odd exception here and there. Like I said before, nothing fills that void that PS1 left for me.

May 24, 2003 I was almost 29.

I bought myself a VAIO desktop as an early birthday present and got Planetside as part of the free software bundle.

I was 15-16 during early beta (alpha) and will never forget the times spent on PS1. I had been a Counter-Strike regular, and seeing an FPS MMO for the first time was nuts!

I had never witnessed or been a part of such camaraderie in a video game, especially something of that large of scale. PS forced you to work together to accomplish goals.. games rarely ever do this anymore.

My favorite part of planetside is the team work and strategy involved as for how long I think I started when I was like 16.. but I can't be sure...

I was 12...started in 2007. I sucked so hard, and still do. However, I loved every minute of it. First outfit was with NC spec ops on Markov...I was so self-conscious on team-speak because I knew I sounded like a pip-squeak. Good times.

Also started around there, first saw PS in closed beta on a friend's machine during a lan. Fell in love instantly with the Galaxy and the VS.

Around 10 years old. Really young. Game has been around for more than half my current life span.

25. And I just started today (sub games is something I can't afford). And I'm not looking back. Bases feel like bases and defense matters (so many games focus too much on offense) and you don't get forced out into the open like on PS2 (My main gripe with that game). And so many guns/gadgets that are so different and not just random numbers about a 0.1% change in rate of fire or something.

*Dubs PS1 his new home*
