IP banned from SOE forums

this is complete bullshit. I am ip banned from there forums cuz I told a mod that he makes 15 cent an hour and he couldn't speak English after he gave me a warning wtf is this bullshit.

Sure if you catch him on a good day he might just overlook it, but imo that shouldn't have come as a surprise. Now one could debate the harshness of an ip ban in this situation vs. a 7day suspension (or whatever alternative they have over there), but being a forum mod/admin myself for over 15 years i can kinda relate to that guy.

Also when i still posted on the SOE forum i wrote some pretty harsh stuff myself, yet never got banned or even warned (as far as i know atleast).
It's all about how you word things.

okay so I have a few banned forums accounts. and I said way worse things. to a mod before but an ip ban is stupid as hell. I just logged on at my girlfriends house and they banned my account from the forums as well so time to make a new account and just get a new ip. and the ticket system doesn't work so I cant even fight it. which is total bs in itself

I do have a few different email addy's for ppl @ SOE from working things out with them over the last decade, it was a good thing that I followed my first instinct and didn't volunteer any of that info.

first off I talk to gm Praesum no1 else since he is the only person that actually matters on the subject for ps1. any mod that I have contact with is just another drone that has no say in anything.

Unlike the other people on this forum i actually care what happens to ps1. I was the one who found out the lead gm for ps1. I found out who to go to with question. I was the one who lost 3 forum account to finally get them to response i did all that for a game that i love to play. I care and want this game to thrive so yes i am unliked by the mods but atleast i put effort into finding out aton of info that no1 else thought to look into. So yes they don't have to talk to me but they will since an ip ban can be dealt with by unplugging my router. They banned my work ip too.... but not my gfs ip so i can still see the forums over her house.

So lets walk through this. You assume SOE is the only ones with the ability to contact people who used to play PS1, so you badger them enough to get not one but 3 account bans and one IP ban, right?

The reason you want back on the forums is to check on PS1 stuff. A game that SOE has decided to make F2P, but has offically announced that there will be no future development towards the game.

That in and of itself means there is no more money coming in from it so they're not reinvesting any money in it. Its a used car that is sold "as is". Personally I love that it's going F2P, but when they said no future development, that really is the last nail in the coffin. The instant it falls over it will stay there. They'll have a "oops, we're sorry" email or something, but with it being free, they have no future obligation to do anything about it.

So let's hypothetically say you get traction and someone emails all the old players and says hey we're F2P forever, between the ones that come back to try it, and the hackers that come in to test their skills, and the... well maybe some newbs that heard about it from PS2 or somewhere, let's say that adds up to a bunch of people, enough to cont-lock.

What happens then?

1) The game experiences a resurgence and is so popular that it needs a second server. No money so no server.

2) The massive influx of players end up in a zerg that craters the current box. Remember, it hasn't had much attention and is probably on old hardware, not even migrated to one of their blade racks or anything. What happens when the ethernet juice leaks out on the motherboard? The magic smoke comes out of a component or two and it's toast.

I bet that when it does fall over, we get an email that the Vanu coming back to reclaim their technology that the VS were so hot for and vaporized Auraxis. That suddenly the spawn terms were locked out and you actually died for once.

Have you asked Hamma if he'd send out to PSU subs?
P.S. Dont' badger him about it tho. You've seen what happens when you pester forum admins already.

Lets say we get a cont lock unlike ps2 there is 12 other conts to fight on. Not 2. Plus 2 caves. So there is an endless amount of fights.

Hamma took 3 months to send an email. When it went f2p for just vets. Im guessing from the last time frame maybe 1 year b4 he does it this time. If someone wants to ask him please do but i have no faith. Sorry i gave up faith when we asked last time and we were left with no response for 3 months. Idk how hard it is to send out a mass email. But to me seems pretty simple. Maybe take roughly 5 mins to write it up or even better copy and paste the last one he did and just change a word or 2

The problem is, even if you can open a dialogue, they still have a job to do. They are already making it free, the rest is up to us. Though I still would like to know which of the devs sabotaged it and introduced the gamebreaking bugs.

Apologies for the delay in response, I have been out of the office. As I'm sure you are already aware, it is true that PlanetSide 1 is no longer in development. It is handled by a different team, so i wouldn't be able to answer definitively, but I'm assuming we will not have any code changes or updates. This would include any kind of mass-grants of items as well. I'm afraid I will not be able to give you a personal contact path, but you can always submit a new petition and it will be answered by a GM as soon as possible. We will continue to provide support for the game, from a Customer Service perspective, but most likely only for Community Standards issues (harassment, cheating, language violations, etc). As for any community facing communication, that would be determined by our Community, Public Relations, and Marketing teams; I am unaware of any plans for PlanetSide 1 at this time.

And i asked about the bugs if they were being fixed not veing fixed hopefully he will get back to me b4 the 23rd. He knows what we want and is trying to help best he can. But i was very confused when he said different team. Since i know aton of ps2 designers and programmars are now on h1z1 and hossin will be the last big update on ps2 for awhile. So i wanna know what team and who can help us. Hopefully i can get some of there info to bring here since i cant post on soe forums

I highly doubt there is a 'Planetside 1' Development/Comunity Relation's team, as the game is not expected to see any further development or promotion... When he says 'Community, Public Relations, and Marketing teams', he means the guys who set SOE's marketing and PR policies; they're the ones who have to sign off on any company information releases, and that's why he's being skittish about replying to anything related to SOEs future plans. Any information he relayed would have to match with the Marketing approved statements, and since there is no development plan, there probably are no Marketing statements for him to reference, hence there's nothing for him (or any other GM) to say. Anyone who was around during beta will probably remember the PS2 team's crazy techniques to circumnavigate the Marketing dept. in their releases (i.e., taking 'screenshots' with a camera phone, to get around releasing company screenshots).

As for /appeals and GM response, ever since PS1 transferred off the ingame appeal system to the web-portal based appeals, all PS1 appeals have gone into the same hopper as EQ/SWG/EQ2 appeals. They're picked up by whatever GM happens to be online at the time, from any game... So, just as before, we'll likely see a lot of copy+paste responses and slow action from GMs who aren't even sure what the PS1 icon looks like, but there'll be some support...

By another team, I simply meant not my team (Customer Service), but the game team, so I can not answer for them definitively. I understand there are some issues being reported with the current state of the game, but as I mentioned, there are no plans, that I am aware of, to continue the development of the game. We will continue to report any issues brought to our attention, but I cannot guarantee they will be resolved. As for TKing and 'shaming' people, I would highly suggest that you do not decide to take matters into your own hands, as you would be violating our policies as well. Instead, if you witness harassment, cheating, or any other violations, simply submit a new petition in the Community Standards category-- a GM will look into it as soon as possible.

Im unsure if he knows that i dont want development done to the game just a few bugs fixed that happen because of soe not being a good company with its games. But this is today new info so customer service cant talk for the game team. But the game team is not developing any content. So what use is the game team then.... either i have what he says backwards or he just doesnt understand on what support and no support are
