I know i asked for this probably a thousand times now and the only offical reply i got was "We think options are evil because we have PS4 controllers embedded in our skulls".

But seriously guys, COME ON. This is annoying. Not only is all this "you got 1 xp", "you got a charger", "you got a cookie and warm milk from your mom" shit constantly obstruing my view, but the "sonic got a ring" sound is equally annoying and distracting from, you know, identifying enemies. Which i thought was allways a pretty important point in a FPS game. I allready disabled the announcer and call outs via the INI file, but couldn't get rid of this shit.

At one point i had a sunderer set up and was playing engineer. I literally gave up on shooting people because of all the noise and display spam in the middle of my screen.

Tl;Dr: Get that PS4 controller out of your skulls and give me the option to disable this spam. Let me actually be able to concentrate on shooting people in a shooter.

I would like option to reduce some things. Like only to Kills.
Some times I have been close to killing people or crucial vehicles, and stopped because I thought the sound/pop-up was a kill register - when it was just "kill assist/air vehicle damage".

Then died during that pause, when I could have fired finishing shot or two.

It ams an distractions.

True it is a bit much, however the idea of disabling stuff from ini worries me more... it seems computer savy folks can easily get advantages by doing stuff like this while the rest of us either need to suffer or also work it out, even heard theres a way to change the settings for transparent objects to make infiltrators visible while stealthed.

It makes me wonder how many "mini hacks" like this people use to get an advantage, would it be that hard to also make all infantry stand out a bit more by fiddling with the files a little bit? something like that wouldn't make it obvious your cheating but would give you a sizeable advantage.

Well afaik you can't really change infil visibilty as a "stand alone" variable. The only way to get them to show up is switching to overall "medium" graphics and above (which is retarded in its own way).
You can reduce the render quality below what is possible in the options, but the "benefit" from that is just more muddy and blurry graphics (and some fps).

There might be more variables i don't know about that do impact gameplay more, but from what i know there is nothing to be worried about, this isn't Quake 3.

But you see, that's exactly my point here:
This is a PC game (that is being ported over to the PS4). Yet it so absolutely lacks any basic options that FPS games from the late 90s allready had and that PC gamers simply should be able to expect from a decent shooter. Not to mention you allready can change some of those things with fiddling around with the INI or using overlays. So what's the point of denying us those options directly?

I could understand if they would say "Yeah we kinda forgot about those because we had to get the cash shop ready", but that "We don't want options and we won't add any because we think they are bad" argument is just pants down retarded and tbh fairly insulting. YOU may not like options SOE, but WE do, and as PC gamers expect any decent game to like them too
(and i know a link to the exact words would be neat here, but just like SOE with options i just cba to add it - believe me when i say that was their argument, Muldoon or RadarX brought it up when being asked why we can't turn off the mission system, or anything else...).

But just incase you wanna actually make use of the fairly good sound system (did they change something? i don't hear infils decloaking in the next base anymore, yay!), here's what you do;
Never join any teamspeak, turn off the official voice comm so you don't have to listen to tossers chewing your ear off, and add these lines to your INI file under the [sound] tab:

Dialog=0.000000
UI=0.000000

Edit: And yes, modern FPS games tend to make me bitter and cynical! But in a good way!

;)

Edit²: Actually wait, i think the guy who brought it up was the dude from here, Malorn!
