Vanu:
Van (as in a van, the vehicle) New or Vah (sounds like La in do re mi fa so la ti do) New

Anyways, that's there just because I've noticed people look at topics with wierd/stupid/'will this run' names more and respond to wierd/stupid/'will this run' questions more than real questions (which follow).

- Is there a 'bases' screen? Because, well, from the SS it seems like there's no way to tell A) how low in power your lowest-in-power base is, and B) no way to tell what continent 'Hldraku Interlink Facility' is on when the helpful onscreen tip tells you the Vanu/Terrans/NC just hacked it. =/

- Okay, I really care about this one. Please, please tell me that there is some way to alert people a base is under attack, without a high command level, and without having a relay-post system with each person at the edge of the nexts local broadcast range. Nothing would be worse than being alone in a base, and suddenly three guys come out of nowhere and blast you, and ya lose the base because you couldn't tell people to get there and save the bloody thing. It would be like capture the flag, only with no chat, so people know the flag room is under attack only once it is too late.

Of course, instead of answering me, you can just sign me up for the beta and I'll see for myself.

Edited the pronounciation thingamajiggers.

I pronounce it Va (as in vascular) New.

vah new

1) You will be able to tell the power level at bases, I believe by checking your map. You will only be notified if something has been hacked, if your on that continent.

2) A hotspot will appear to signify that the base is under attack.

So when someone dies/kills it makes a little 'hotspot' thing? So if you kept throwing yourself against them, some backup might come. Reassuring...
Oh well... you can always just go away and come back again with 6 guys and wipe the floor with em, then they'll come back with 12, then suddenly every person in the server is there and the thing crashes while you're getting 2 FPS.
Or not.
=/

But I was right, people respond more to near-pointless topics!

Edit: Ah, yes. Squad and Outfit chat extends cross-continent, right? So if you're part of an outfit, you can call for backup, and likely one other person in your outfit (If it's reasonably big, like 50+ people) will be on the continent and they can tell others and/or assist you.

I'm guessing that the hotspot only appears when the base itself has been hacked (or maybe if a terminal/respawn tubes are destroyed). That still gives defenders fifteen minutes to pour in. I don't think that one guy dying would set off any kind of alarm, though.
