Ive been thinking about trading....

my Xbox for a Gamecube. now im just wondering if its a good idea or horrible mistake. I have 8 games on it currently which i have either played till i got bored with or beat it (halos the only 1 i beat outa the 8). sure i claimed xbox was great and yadda yadda, but none of the games kept me wanting 2 play the whole thing even splinter cell which i said was so ungodly cool. but ive played some GC games and i must say they are fun like Metriod, mario, and the RE games theres prob some more but i cant think of them off the top of my head. well just lemme know what u think.

Nintendo always seems to cater to little kids. I had an N64, but I sold it because the only game that was any fun was Golden Eye. Personally I'm thinking about getting a PS2.

One good thing about the Game Cube though is Super Smaah Brothers is a whole lot of fun :)

Pay no attention to the uneducated fools that keep saying the Gamecube is for kids.

Any good source will tell you the NGC is a family console, yeah it has games like Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros and others aimed for a younger audience (but is still a lot of fun even at 20) but it also has adult games like RE,Eternal Dark, Mortal Kombat : Deadly alliance, Die Hard, Blood Omen 2, BloodRayne, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Driver 3, Mafia, Dead to rights and a whole lot others on the way or already out. :)

It's your choice, i myself prefer the NGC over Xbox since most of the games on Xbox are not my cup o' tea or you can find similiar and perhaps even better on PC, that and the horrible controller/price. :)

That was the exact same reason I bought my N64.

PS2 has some rockin games as well.

GTA3 and Vice City make a PS2 very agreeable.

Keep your Xbox. It is just raw more powerful hardware. That means that the potential for its future games is greater.

I also like the idea of the Xbox live being broadband only. That means that it's future online games have more potential because they don't have to worry about dial up users. X-box's online games all use voice communication, PS2's do not (with the exception of SOCOM Navy Seals) and GC doesn't have an online set up.

Quality Xbox titles have been hard to find up to this point, but things have really picked up this holiday season.

You know, you could just spend $150 and have both. But why anyone would want to deal with that terrible Game cube controller is beyond me. ;) (also I have yet to see a store that doesn't have a worn out or broken GC controller on their demo machine, while the X-box and PS2 controllers work just fine.)

Ok as i said it's your choice, not trying to persuade you into getting the Cube but merely wanted to correct a few thing.

1- Xbox isn't that more powerful than PS2 or NGC.

2-NGC does indeed have an online compenent as well, PSO (one of the BEST games i've ever played, seriously i played over 2000hours on the DC version which was suckier than this one so imagine ;)) and the Broad Band Adapter have recently been released, dunno about futur online games though, would have to check.

3-Nintendo has always made quality products, my cousin dropped a tonka truck on my old nes way back when and it worked fine and many other people report exceptional qualtiy (the most surprising is the kid who found his gameboy cartridge outside in spring after all the snow melted and it still worked ! :lol: ) If the NGC controllers are worn out at your stores somebody is exagerating and/or doing something bad with them.

1- wtf have you been smoking Dio, the X-Box is 3 times as powerful as the ps2, and i think twice as powerful as a GC, but i'm not sure of that.

2- X-Box Live outclasses all other concoles online components, everything is nice, simple and integrated meaning you will have more targets.

Personally i think Game Cube is a good console that has some fun games, and i am probably going to buy one, but there is no way i would trade in my box for it.

Yea the XBox Live is much more organized and a whole lot better than any other console's online "component". The PS2's online is pretty bad and the GC only has one game but the online isn't really that official and stuff. All I'm trying to get to is XBox Live is so much better than any console's online it's not even funny. Oh and the XBox is way more powerful than the GC and PS2 while it also being the only one of the three that can, in theory, stay with current technology for almost 10 years while Sony's already planning a PS2!

Well i don't care about PS2 but compare NGC and Xbox.

The Xbox does indeed have nearly double the CPU speed but as for the rest it varies depending on which site you check but on average it's not double and you have to take into account Microsoft is like Sony, twisting the truth a bit isn't a bad thing as long as the sales come in. ( A good example is the polygon count)

i just went ahead and bought the damn thing havent played it yet thou seening as how i just got home. but ill play it tomorrow and give my thoughts about the new metroid prime. sorry about starting up the ol console war ^^.

Metroid is awesome if you can get past the 3D thing. I myself don't mind but some people can't forgive the 3Dness of it. (Probably the same people that say Zelda will suck just because it's in cel-shading)

I strongly suggest you try Dead to rights as well. :)

On a note I LOVED super smash brothers, I only play kirby! But PS is made by sony, and like everquest is going to have a PS2 version, maybe, I'm just saying maybe, sometime, there could be Planetside (or some kind of Planetside) on the PS2 or PS3....

Meh, 90% of games are better on PC than on any console.

And yeah Dead 2 rights like any other FPS with no MP has very little replay value, but the first time around it's a blast. :)

Also SSBM is indeed awesome, Kirby is good yeah, i like em all. :) Only a few i don't use like Mario Bros and Ice climbers.

PS2 has games that everyone wants: Vice City, Kingdom Hearts (damn excellent game, BTW :D), FFX, and other games no one could care about or need. ;)

My real reason is this: People will most likely end up purchasing only TWO consoles, if more than one is desired/can be afforded. People who do not worry about money and can/did purchase all 3 are not part of the equation. Most people will buy a PS2 and another system. Will that system be X-Box or Gamecube?

You're going to have to make a choice. In one hand, you will have Microsoft's life. In the other hand, you will have Nintendo's. One of them is going to die. Which one, will be up to you.
