Empires dont really have special ablities cept for there MAX,so a Vanu sniper is just as good as a NC,it is exactly the same

well, if you want incredible accuracy with lackluster power and a particle trail that gives you away if sniping with a non-bolt driver, then Vanu is 4 u.
if you want incredible power in a single shot, and lots of shots, but not nessisarily perfect accuracy, NC is for you if you are using a non-BD gun.
if you want to be a Terran sniper without using a BD, use a looted gun. you arent going to hit didely with a spray-n-pray arsenal...

Well, saying it's spray and pray is pretty ignorant. BTW, the Cycler has a scope on it. Also, shotguns at long range will SUCK...

sniping is the same for all empires.

well, i was under the impression that using a shotgun for sniping was redundant, and hence failed to get the point across by not mentioning it. by NC weapons, i meant non-shotgun weapons. which is limited to the gauss. and just cause the cycler has a four-power scope doesn't nessisarily mean it's accurate, it just means it's more accurate than when it's not zoomed in. as for the terran army's weapons not being spray and pray, take a look. deep clips and high-refire makes them good at medium range, you just wont be hitting any infantry with any accuracy at long range...

Simple, it's NC, cause you get the Phoenix. They can't shoot you unless they have one too, because they can't shoot around corners like you can.
The trick tho, will be using it effectively. But if you can, it'll be lots better than the bolt driver.

Well, the Guass has a good ROF aswell. Why would it be able to snipe? Also, you can control your bursts easily.

the gauss is slower, but more powerful, and possibly more accurate. the majority of TR weapons have a very high ROF but not too much in the power or accuracy department. TR needs to make up for the lower power of it's weapons by firing faster, reducing accuracuy as an unfortunate side-effect. so controlled bursts will be more accurate, but possibly less damaging. controlled bursts would be needed for the Gauss too, so don't feel too bad...

Darksim,
Did you mean my post? Because I never even specified indoor phoenix use. In fact, I was thinking outdoors.
I assume it was the words "around corners" that confused you there. But there are corners to shoot around outside too, like the base walls.

Lets not forget vehicles and weapons. They kinda give the empires different special abilities.

Way to go is NC, because the Gauss rifle is a high speed projectile, so it has super good range and accuracy at long range for a standard rifle, at leat according to the write up. It'll tear stuff up. Trust me;)

look at the fileplanet video you wont be turning any corners any where it moves up/down/left/right a bit but you have to aim the thing still

Bassically, all empires can make equally good snipers. The only diference is what that sniper is doing while not sniping. Choose wichever empire has the coolest weapons that you can use for backup at times when sniping isn't possible. You may be a sniper but you still probably carry a Assault Rifle :)

It's very simple, you shoot up, over the base wall/rock and guide it down again. Or out a main base entrance at an angle, to hide yourself from view. You shoot it around what your hiding behind, and then correct its course.
There's stories from beta testers about skeeters being shot down by phoenix's, despite every effort they made to dodge it. I wouldn't underestimate it.

Sniper is the same with all empires.
As for the cycler, shotgun, gauss. They arent going to be that hot at range :p
