what gives here? Sure at first glance it's an awesome battle, click next arrow button to see next SS

But the max int he middle, the NC one, says corpse of tony or scory or something, dunno the dudes name, shortterm memory and all

Anywho what's with the "corpse of XXX" part when the missile hasn't even hit him yet?

Is damage registered and then the animation is shown? if so that's kinda lame...

:\

I would think that either the casket is behind him or he chose that as his name. It'd be funny if it was predicting his death though.

hmm never thought about him naming himself "Corpse of Trace"

Well, that isn't his name since you can't have spaces in your name.
MAXs' death animations seem to have a "Standing up before falling over" component, so it may just be that someone killed him with bullets just before the missile hit.

the thread was wondering if the bullet damage was registered when it hit the person or before hitting them

cause if u couldn't dodge rockets coming at u that'd be kinda lame

and I still don't have a definite answer

No, damage is real time.

As far as I've seen, they don't name corpses until your right up there, if at all.

You only get "Corpse of Warborn" if the player, in this example some guy with the handle Warborn, hasn't released to pick a spawn location (he may be waiting for a revive). So in that example, the Corpse of Trace is definitely the NC MAX. However, he may have been killed, as others said, by something other than the missile heading right at him. If I had to guess, I'd say he took a lot of fire from that Vanu MAX to his left, and the plasma from the shots killed him right before the missile impacted.

Hmmm... Never really thought about it until now, but I guess destroyed vehicles stay around for some time...

The fact that they keep the name above the ruined vehicle is strange IMO. You can't "revive" busted up vehicles can you? And how long do they stay there before they vanish?

That probably happens a lot. :D

They stay for a minute or two. It's pretty cool walking through an area after a big fight with infantry and vehicles, seeing the burned out hulks of charred metal with little coffins littered around them.
