Now I'm not in beta, but I've been thinking.

Wouldn't the smart thing to do, is pick reinforced armour at the begining, because you don't have many certs for vehicles.

Then once you get enough certs, and implants (definatley darklight. did you see that video? )
Then switch to agile armour for the vehicles you want.

Any beta testers have any thoughts on this?

Won't have enough cert points for nice weapons you may want, since Agile is prerequisite to Reinforced.

You gotta get agile armor before u can get reinforced armor

so 3 points right there, which leaves nothing for weapons

You start with Agile Armor and Standard Assault automatically. I'd personally rather get Medium Assault before Reinforced, though. More interested in killing people than not being killed a little bit faster myself.

sigh, silly n00bs. You Start with Standard and Agile Armor, as in they cost no cert points, you need to BUY Reinforced Armor if you want that (3pts).

When you spawn your are in Standard armor. But by default you can always wear Agile armor as long as you put it on at a equiptment terminal (easily done with the favorites) Standard armor lets you run faster then agile, thats its only advantage and its a slim one at that. Agile armor is okay, Reinforced is very nice. 2 Rifle Slots rocks. (im in beta, what i speak is fact not just crap ive read on outdated sites)

yep i agree with Delirare I'm in beta too, a nd his info is acurate.

and the armor choice depends on what you plan on doing in the game.

bah, wasnt meant in a harsh way, im awful liberal with the term n00b. :) just dont spread information if your not sure on it, its what causes mass misinformation, confusion, and preconceptions that dont stand true. saw too much of it in other mmo's :)

I dont believe you will have to buy agile, but they are reseting the servers on monday so everyones at lvl 1. I guess we'll find out then.

Alot of the time i prefer agile over reinforced. I take a gauss, ammo, BANK and some ACEs and im fine.

One big advantage to agile is you can man a vanguard. :D

OK
Just to make this clear to EVERYONE
I am in beta and you DO start out with agile and standard assault. And getting the reinforced with the 3 cert points you start out with would be really dumb, it takes like a year to kill someone with supressor. Most people WILL get med assault, we will see that on thursday as the char whipe will take place. But some people will have reinforced and med assauly right away, OmnipotentKiwi pointed out to me that if you use EVERY weapon and vehicle in VR you get to BR lvl 3. Since you get exp for using new weapons and vehicles, looking at new terminals and whatnot.

I have read from other threads that you can get up to BR 4 before ever having to shoot someone (this is from VR alone). Is this true or is it only BR 3?

I don't know what happened to getting exp from VR kills, but you don't. The VR room is little more than a firing range, with holographic enemies as targets. The only exp you get from there is from using weapons/equipment/etc for the first time, and I tend to doubt it'll even get you to BR2.

However, that doesn't really make a difference either way. You start with 4 certs, and that's enough for Medium Assault and 2 in the bank for Reinforced, or any vehicle piloting skill. You are very much capable of contributing to your Empire at BR1.

Is there any other forms of VR training? Any vehicle training or flight training? Any MAX suits or equipment training/usage involved? Thanks for the info Warborn.
