Do you get anything from doing safe runs? Like.. if you get troops from a base and drop them off somewhere and come back to the base without being blown up do you get anything from it?

You may be missing the point of the Galaxy, it's not base-place-back. It's also for support (Those at least have to be equivelent to mini-chainguns. AT LEAST.), and place-place-AMS-place-enemy's head-etc.

OI! I did not know that the chainguns could be that much of a use. So I gusse they are like the.. err I think its the C-31? (something like that). Oh yeah.. and how many people can you have in a squad?

Do the miniguns on the galaxy work well against vehicles?

you have no ask yourself one question, do miniguns in general work well against vechicles? Non-armoured, yes, armoured, no! I'll give 100c to the first person who can kill a vanguard with a minigun, with it shooting you :p

A couple more galaxy related questions.
1. Can you drop tanks and such out the back without stopping? Like if you flew really low at a reasonablly slow speed, could the passengers and such jump out without getting hurt?
2. Could you fly really low over a group of enemys and hit them with the galaxy?
3. Can you land a galaxy on another vehicle and crush it?

1) you can drop vehicles that can fit in a galaxy out while it's flying (i.e. marauder, harasser, etc). Tanks don't fit though.
2) Yes you can run people over
3) Errm, maybe you could crush something, but more than likely it will blow you your galaxy.

Ah damn. That's gay, what's the point of calling something a Galaxy if it can't even hold a tank.

It would totally ruin the game. Everybody and every squad would have 5 galaxies loaded with 5 heavy tanks and drop into the enemy base. :ugh:

Ok, what if there was a transport craft specifically designed to carry one large tank. Like a big helocopter that carrys the tank under it via some huge cables or something. That way you could move tanks via air if you wanted but it would require more people and and the tank transports would have no guns on them.
It would still take away the ground combat aspect of the game which the devs want to include. Already there is a lot of air combat due to the important role of galaxies, if tanks didn't use the ground to get from base to base then PS would become an aerial combat game.

Well maybee the miniguns you see on the usual military helicopters dont but the miniguns carried by aircraft can take out tanks very easily especialy the one carried by the a-10 warthog

er... that's not exactly a mini-gun on the A-10 :p The aircraft's built around it, not vice versa.

Yeah, that's a fully auto dual 50-calliber with AP bullets on an A-10. Nothing much mini about that.

The chain-cannon on the front of an A-10 fires shells roughly the size of a 1-pint milkbottle. The sheer size, speed and weight of the shell batters the be'jesus out of a tank

The cannon on the A-10 Warthog is an oversized gatling gun with 6 rotating barrels, not 2, and it spits out 30mm depleted uranium rounds, not .50-cal.

Having the galaxy able to transport a tank, in addition to screwing with game mechanics, would also not be realistic.
Tanks are many things. Firstly, they are REALLY HEAVY. The real life C-5 Galaxy, 5-7 times larger than the Planetside Galaxy, can only hold about 2 M-1 MBTs. They simply weigh too much to hold any more.

can we stop comparing PS to real life? I mean, PS is like 200 years in the future!
