Will PS run on a 800mhz 128RAM geforce 2 mx400? Are there any games i can compare it to? i.e if you can run <game> you can run PS?
My computer is a 1.3ghz with 512 ram and a 128mb geforce4 ti4600.
Everything has to be on minimum settings, as my system is scraping the minimum requirements.
Put simply, no, yours will not run PS :(

im going to have to agree with led. its not going to run at any playable framerate. Your under the min for ram, under for cpu speed. and the gf2 is pretty slow.

I can't imagine how poorly Planetside would run on 256 megs of ram

i'm either going to run it on a
1) 1.8 gig athlon+512 mb ram+radeon 9700 pro (540$), or
2) 1.8 gig athlon+512 mb ram+geforce 4 ti 4600 (440$), or
3) 1.3 gig athlon+512 mb ram+geforce 4 ti 4600 (220$), or
4) 1.3 gig athlon+512 mb ram+geforce 4 mx 420 (20$)
It really depends if you guys think graphics really make the game more fun, or not. I mean I prefer shiny armor over low polygonal non shiny armor.
I should make a poll on this and see what you guys think.

Hey I have tried PS on a few different configs, however you should know that it ran perfectly fine with almost max settings on a 1.33 ghz AMD with a Gforce4 4200 Ti and 512 mb DDR ram, and on a 28.8k connection too :P

It would appear that 'your mileage may vary'.
RAM seems to be the most important component - people who say it runs fine with (CPU under 1 ghz) and (Pretty weak vidcard) usually say the comp also has 512 or 1024 megs of (usually DDR) ram. So get a lot of good ram and if you're a little below the minumum specs it will likely be playable. But 128 ram would almost definatly be a no-go unless you have a whuppin CPU and video card.

Havok-
It does work on a 28.8k, so does almost every other online game I play. so, yes, it will work on 56k, I promise you that.

i really dont mean to sound so flamey when i say this but if you can get a geforce 4 ti4200 512mb of ddr ram and a amd 1.3ghz cpu why cant you go get a 56k modem there like what 30 bucks nowadays

well i wouldnt consider 56k nice im just saying why woudlnt you get something better than 28.8 i havent been on dialup for years but i know when i was as soon as i could move from 28.8 to 33.6 i did and then as soon as i could get a 56ghey i did like i say i dont mean to flame just curious why youd want to be on so slow a connection dont 28.8 modems upload at like 14.4 the reason i say this is in alot of fps games ive played i see people warping around then when someone mentions it they say there on a 28.8 and they dont see any warp at all its just every other unlucky guy whos around them

Havok-
You must have lived in the city your whole life huh? I have a 56k modem, however on the shitty phone lines in the middle of nowhere Bum Fudge Egypt, 28.8 is the best you can connect at.
I connect with a sattelite to do any type of downloading, but the upload/download delay is so huge it won't work with games at all. But the faster than DSL downloads are nice.
Believe me, if I could get DSL or cable, or hell, even a 56k connection, I would.
Hope this clears some things up, and you should know just as well as anybody that it's just plain silly to think somone would keep a 28.8 if they had any choice in the matter.

i dont live in a big city a town of about 32k and i am to blame for misreading your first post that stated you have a 28.8 connection and not modem was error on my part
i just saw the 28.8 and associated it with the modem not a connection and based on my misreading it and your mentioned system couldnt think for the life of me why someoen would keep that connection
sorry for my ignorance on that one as i mentioned before i didnt mean to be flamey or degrading in my response

Not a problem, common mistake. The town I live in has about 2k people :P The "town" consists of 1 gas station 2 pizza places and a dairy Queen lol..
But hey it's good news for people like me that it works fine on that type of connection, long as you have a good computer :)
