Trenches would be a death trap in this game, thats all. If you pop your head up to fire you will get it blasted off, if you stay down in the trench you will be in a confined space with nothing but enemies in it... Great place to throw lots and lots of grenades! Or better yet get a chain firing, mortar launching tank to blow all the rabbits into kibble.

Trees are usually quite close to the bases, and those give plenty of cover from turrets that will not stop firing at you.
