Yesterday on sunday, about 500 Trran Republic Soliders (including I) werte gearing up to invade cyssor.

When we did invade cyssor I experinced lag trying to land to get out the troops. It was veryy laggy cause there were rickets flying and bullets 2... Im wondering if that big Battle = Big lagg?

System specs and connection?

I would imagine there will be lag in large battles for some people. Make sure to adjust your graphics sliders accordingly.

Usually yea, the more people on the screen at the same time, the more lag. Kinda a given in any game.

bases = new stuff for yer vid card to draw and info for yer CPU to process, it's normal for it to lag then.

When the continent get very large amounts of people, the continent tends to get laggy and crash once in a while.

Throughout the beta, the devs have consitantly made improvements and optimizations that allow for more players on a continent with less lag. I expect these improvements to continue throughout the rest of Beta. (it is really amazing how fast the devs are optimizing)

I think Auraxis have gotten pretty close to holding 2000 total players.

I think continents start having problems when they aproach 600 players, but it could be more than that now since I do not know of a way to check the number of people on a continent, except when the GMs shout out the number.

I'm told that everyone crowding into Cyssor is a problem. Hopefully they'll come up with a carrot/stick fix for it that spreads out the population.

I have the same specs as you subzero. except i have a gforce 3 64 MB and i have lil to no lag in large fights. I was in one the other day with about 300 TR and 300 Vanu. You should have seen my screen, i took a SS cuz it was just blue and red dots on my radar lol. It was crazy, but anyway, i just dont get that much lag and most of hte times it plays very smoothly for me.

If everyone crowding on to Cyssor is a problem now, what happens on Tuesday or Wed when all of the open beta testers arrive and every continent turns into Cyssor?

You will crash alot, the continent will crash alot, and you will see lots of lag.

All of these things will help the devs optimize their code. This a beta afterall and this is the stress test/optimization portion of the testing.

A lot of ppl say the crowding on Cyssor is a problem, but I disagree. I spend a lot of time playing on the part of the game I call "Not Cyssor", and it is great because a single organized squad can make all the difference on any of the less travelled continents. All those places are where you go for variety and a change of pace, and here's a secret: If you want to get consistent base caps, stay the hell off Cyssor.

On the other hand, Cyssor is always hopping, so if you just want to jump in a squad or go lone wolfing for some hectic combat, you can always head out to Gunuku and join the waves of people fighting over the island.

I contend that when continents get overcrowded, people will be frustrated and go to other places. There is almost always at least some action to be found in the back waters.

Oh, and we passed 2000 people online for most of the peak hours during the weekend.

What will be the maximum number of players each world server can handle? Or haven't they decided yet?

I'm thinking thats part of what will be determined by letting all us n00b dead asses in at once.

be sure to track your deaths folks. we'll have a contest to see who dies the most in the shortest period of time.

death for fun and profit...just think, you too could win..the scorn and ridicule of your teammates as well as our continued harassment.:p

Well Cyssor is where TR and NC can run thro strait from their sanctuary. And also cyssor is the most common, and has the most of almost everything.

Gunuku bridges are just a shit storm anymore, I can't stand to fight there mainly because everytime I'm on cyssor, the server dies. I really enjoy Ceryshen if I can talk people into the hike out there and deal with the mountains.

5000 would rock. The more the merrier.

5000 online at a given time would mean roughly 15-20,000 active accounts on a server. I hope they have the ability to open new servers with great speed, because that really isn't all that many. It will get incredibly crowded incredibly quick without additional servers to take the load off.
