Beta CDs

Today was the projected date me and my friend came up with for beta CDs to arrive. I waited for 2 hours after I got out of school for the mail to arrive. Finnaly after waiting the mail car came (USPS). I eagerly ran to the mail box, crossed my fingers, and ...... was disappointed.

Anyone out there reading the forums get their beta CD yet? If so, did it arrive USPS or by other means. I can't wait....I wanna play PS very badly.

Have another friend who is rubbing in my face the fact that he got into exclusive.

You must live on the east coast. I doubt it would arrive on the east coast this early. I live in california and haven't gotten mail yet but I'll say whether or not I get my CD.

I also heard that they haven't done the character wipe yet and the open beta doesn't begin till tomorrow.

Dev team is located in the Central Time, so...thats where my assumption came from.

Guess it depends on where the CDs are produced. Please be here tmmrw.

colin I understand your sentiments, must be tough with everyone talking about beta. However its like a bittersweat torture. I was happy reading about PS and patiently waiting for it to come out. Helping to run my BF divison of my team. None of the edginess that comes along with anticipation, but then the beta email arrived. Since then I've acted like a fiending drug addict. My wife thinks I am insane for checking the mail constantly (which BTW I have never cared to check the mail before).

So yes its cool to be in open beta, but damn it feels like pain right now!

(On the plus side I did get a sh!t load done around the house this weekend!)

Just to clarify, the cds are being mailed from San Diego. I wouldn't expect your disk today, I am in Dallas and didn't receive mine. East coasters may have to wait until Wed. or Thursday.

I was absolutely fine just checking up on it occasionally and awaiting the release date. But to our surprise (the song I'm currently listening to right now :D) I recieved an e-mail claiming I'd been accepted into Beta and that I'd have to send them my shipping address. Needless to say, I did that right then and there and have probably checked everyday since then to make sure it's absolutely correct. I've also checked my e-mail twice a day (when I'd usually check it every week or so beforehand). I wouldn't (couldn't, is a more appropriate word... :p) play Natural Selection because of the recent surfacing of h4x0rs and how the game must be so silly and unentertaining compared to what soon awaits me...

*sigh* I haven't gotten my mail for today, but if no one has gotten their Beta CDs it means I won't either. I certainly don't live in San Diego. :ugh:

Now that's almost unbelievable. That says to me that the rest of the country won't get there CDs until Wed. or Thurs....Or they did in fact mail the East coast disks on Fri and the West coast disks on Saturday so they would arrive at the same time. Even still, it's almost unfathomable that you couldn't receive your cd in 1 day.

Really i will say this again, it is a rare fact that anybody will get their cds before the people in california do. So mountain, central and east wait.......and i dont know bout northwestern states/provencis will get it. And europe dont ask.

I live in Ontario, Canada and didn't get my CDs yet. I heard that the maximum time till you can get the CDs is 3 business days tho... so I guess we gotta get em tomorrow or wenesday.

yeah, tell me about it. my poor wife had to put up with me jumping at every sound I heard on saturday waiting for the mail-(person) to come. then whining about it not showing saturday....and now, the poor thing, gets another evening of bitchyness from yours truly.

now, if I'd heard the east coast folks were receiving them and still nada for me....well, lets just call it 'rampage' and move on.

I was suprised enough I got on the Beta. I will let you guys know how it goes. I am worried about the install now. My friend who is on the exclusive is already playing. He was able to download early, but said I wouldn't see my disks for a while. I am just going to jump in and suprise the hell out of him.

well the wait for beta acceptance is long but the wait for the CD is that much longer. I live in NY and am expecting my CD by wednesday the latest i hope. But i do have all of next week off, so im a lucky bastad ;)

Guys, they mailed them on Friday *AND* Saturday. They mailed the furthest away on Friday, and the closest on Saturday so that everyone gets thiers about the same time. I don't know what freaky ass carrier you guys normally get your mail from, but it always takes me 3-4 days to get something USPS.

SNAIL MAIL! :mad: im in kingsport, tennessee and our city services SUCK! i mean somtimes they dont even come get our trash! The police suck too, it takes about 45 minutes for police to arrive to a car wreck! I can see it now... "hold on and let me finish this box of doughnuts before we go take care of it"

From my experiences they prob wont even bring the FREAKIN MAIL!

Are they sending them UPS or USPS? I've heard both, and in my situation it's a fairly significant difference..
