Now that the NDA has been lifted, what do you get when you reach levels 3, 4, and 5 of command rank?

Level 3: you can use you uplink device to take a snapshot of where every enemy is on the continent. This is great for figuiring out what bases are least defended and where enemy AMSs are.

Level 4: I seem to have forgotten. I will get back to you on this one.

level 5: you gain continent the wide chat ability.

lvl 4 gives you the ability to call down an orbital strike using your uplink device. I dont know the recharge rate but i know its in the game. You can also broadcast continent wide I think lvl 5 is planet wide. Im not in beta though so im just going on what ive heard and seen in ss's

"Call down an orbital strike" - could you clarify?

If this is set a way point for HART drops, or allow them to drop someplace they normally can't, cool.

If it's a big bomb or similar, that might be kind of lame

Its some form of orbital attack, its not in yet so we dont know for sure. Rest assured if such a command does exist there will probably be huge delays involved

You also get jamming, but nobody knows what it does.

Last night, Smed said the continent wide chat was obtained at command level 5. He could be wrong tho.

Orbital strike? That sounds awsome! I wonder if you can use it on aircraft?

I doubt it, since it has a laser designator, you would have to be completely still , so unless the air vehicle is just hovering, no.

Hmmm. Still wish it wasn't a direct weapon. While it is nifty, it does seem to go against some of their other decisions - no bombs, mortars, artillery as weapon types.

And I do think it might be a potential problem when the game matures and lots more folk make CR4. Hopefully, the recycle time will be fairly long - once a day, perhaps?

I prefer to see the command benefits relate to - well, command and movement of troops. Being able to drop troops into an enemy SOI might be good.

But I can see how a smart commander might use this to punch a hole in the defenses (or offense), and hopefully exploit it.

I think it would be pretty useful. Especially against heavely defended bases.
