i have only played TR and have played that since last friday.
lag / framerate / etc - i am very suprised at how well the game runs on my computer. i rarely experience lag and my computer is average. so if you have an average computer do not worry about running the game. crashs happen sometimes but only once every couple hours or every hour or so. they do not bother me since gameplay runs fine between those crashes. i have been very suprised at how well the game has run so far.
playing style - very opposite of quake / unreal types of games. alot of croching and firing bursts of bullets at the enemy. i like the change, makes for a much more realistic style of game play.
maxs zerlings whatever - yes they are formidable but no they are not the end all. i believe they will be quite a dominate force early on in the game until people get their av weapons. at that point they lose some of their luster but will always play a role. if your on TR and want to kill these dudes go with your striker.
vehicles - its just so cool seeing aircraft and tanks and such. infantry are getting more adept at taking both these and maxs down as almost everyone has the av cert. av cert will be a must in the game to compete.
bases and such - bases are pretty big, big enough to be an annouyance to run down and stop a hack. theyre also a pain to run out of when you respawn. i like towers personally since it gets you outside alot more quickly.
capture of bases - well this is the biggest problem i think everyone in beta sees right now and a popular idea being pushed hard is that of a matrix (summation, from base A you must take either base B or C to take base D). the problem is you just have ppl riding around on 4 wheelers taking back bases. the matrix ideas goal is to give more of a front line to the fighting. right now the game play is like jumbalaya and i think a good casserol would play better. btw, this is the biggest issue facing planetside longevity.
population now - its been around 1700 - 2000 peeps last few days. the world does seem sparse if your not in a combat area. it is honestly a ghost town. i am hoping when the open beta peeps get in that helps. hard to say until then. the world is big though.
learning curve - you will definently feel this when you start. if your like me and just like to jump into games you may land on your head for the first day or so.
cyssor is the main world where the most fighting seems to be taking place for tr around a town of gunuk.
its easy to hop into squads. but its not imperative to group to have fun. just follow other people and shoot the bad guys.
tactics are getting better, and i see a big difference in player competency since just this past friday.
