Beta: Update from someone in San Diego waiting on a Beta CD

My wife just called me...mail has arrived.....and still no beta CD....dammit.

I doubt it, I believe they were open beta slots, not exclusive. They may compensate to offset the time delay however.

In any event, by the time you d/l the game, you'll have one day to play before the huge character wipe and patch which you will have to download.

I've also heard the servers are down as of today until 5p.m. CST.

The guys in California will recieve the beta and have it online before you finish downloading, patching.

The way things go with SOE, it may take a month for you to get your CD key once you DL the game.

There are some people in exclusive whom have not gotten their emails yet.

I've given up being optimistic when SOE is concerned.

It's kind of like paintball but the guns you use are exact 1:1 replicas of real-life guns and they shoot hard plastic BBs. You can check out some videos here (http://www.ukairsoft.net/lib-videos.php) to get an idea of what it's like. Check out the reviews section on that page also to see some pictures/descriptions of some of the guns.

edit- some of those videos really suck, check out the ambush one that's 60 megs and the one at the bottom that's 14 megs they are good.

Pretty cool. I checked out some of the weapons, and they weren't nearly as expensive as I thought they would be. Just searching around, I did come across a couple that were $2,000+, but for the most part they are $200 and under.

If I knew anyone that played, and might have to check this game out.

I do have one question though....When you play, are you subject to the "honor system." In other words, paintballs leave marks, these BBs don't seem to. How can you tell when someone is out of the game?
