Log into PS right now, and go to the server selection screen. Tell me what servers are up, and what the scrolling message at the top says. I really don't think you're in Beta at all, so I'd sort of like to either prove I'm right or wrong by this simple, easy-to-do test.

5pm CST, not 500 CST, but that's close enough, and I believe you.
But, a word of warning to those who have their questions answered: Dharkbayne here might not give the best answers around. Not saying you shouldn't listen to anything he says, but just stay open to other possibilities.

I will say if i'm not sure about something, and remember all the stuff is subject to change, but I know pretty much all the gameplay stuff.

... except that a Marauder will beat the shit out of an AV MAX in virtually all instances if the Marauder crew and AV MAX are of comparable skill.

Warborn, is the Striker worth getting right now or for now does it need tweaking? I've heard it can be bad for locking bugs or whatever.

This question is open to anyone.
Are the HUDS movable? Resizable? Skinnable? Different options available?
Eg. I prefer my compass in the top right corner, and the team/global chat/msgs in the top left corner.

I use it almost as much as I use a cycler. The only real bug I can tell is how sometimes even though you can appear to have LOS, you can't get a lock. Overall though it is great because frankly I was tired of getting waxed by AI maxes outside and reavers. The striker lets you turn the tables.

I'm not in beta, and I plan on being nc. Now that i've said that, I would like to say that I would much rather prefer a 1 shot then reload decimator with a lock that would only work on aircraft then a pheonix that most would call a hand held tow artillery cannon.
Just my 2 cents.

Can you lock the drivers seat, Trunk, and other vehicle circles seperately? (I.E: the ability to deploy the AMS, use it's inv terminal, Bind at it...) And if so, what are the different settings?
I should know this, I'm in open beta, but I can't get a straight answer and the manual is "unspecific", so I'd like to know.
Also, do you have to be in the drivers seat to change the settings, and is the vehicle yours until someone gets in the drivers seat?

truck is auto locked and yes you can lock it or squad lock it so just you and squad can use or lock so no one but you can use it

/agree
The Striker is very good, IMO, but sometimes I have a clear line of sight to a valid target, but I can't lock. It's strange. Otherwise though, yes, the Striker is awesome, and I try to keep one on me all the time when I play a grunt alt.

I've never personally used an AMS, so I can't comment there. However, all vehicles have basically the same vehicle interface. You can lock the trunk or have it open access. You can lock the vehicle in general (ALL spots), or have it open to your Empire, or open to your Squad only.
Also, do you have to be in the drivers seat to change the settings, and is the vehicle yours until someone gets in the drivers seat?
No, you can change the settings anytime. I always change my Prowler or Marauder to Squad-only when I create it, to prevent any people near the pad from hopping in (they'd be booted anyway, but booting people is something I dislike having to do -- I'd rather they just be denied access).
And the vehicle is yours until you make a new one, or someone else gets in the driver seat. That's one reason why I always keep my vehicles squad-only.

Thanks. If you get a chance, try out the AMS and let me know.
And just to clarify and put my mind to ease, I could have the vehicle locked so only I could enter it, and the trunk set for my squad so they could get stuff out, right?

Ok, couple questions. I plan on my main character being a sniper/vehicle specialist, and when adding up my certs that i should have by the time im at BR20, i end up a few short for everything i need, and i planned on having both reaver and mosquito certs, but if i dont get the skeeter cert, then i could free up room for a medical cert, but i would only get that medical cert if i could use whatever equipment that can repair vehicles. So, is the skeet worth the certs, is it valuable to a squad or outfit, does its speed and radar jammer make up for its limited armor and weaponry, or should I just get a the basic med. cert instead, once again, thats only if I can harness whatever equipment that repairs vehicles....one more thing, its 22 total certs by BR20 right?
Dharkbayne
2003-04-15, 08:03 PM
I believe its 23 or 24 certs at BR 20, I am not sure though.
Deebob
2003-04-15, 08:29 PM
Its 23 at BR 20.
Every BR you get 1 extra, but BR1 is 4 cert points to start with.
As for the med cert? What you want in Engineering. With it you can use the BANK which repairs vehicles. Engineering will cost you 3 cert points. Combat Engineering is 2 more, but you dont need it to repair, its just for placing spitfire turrets, sensors, mines etc. But ya, you want engineering, and that will cost 3 cert points.

Not much faster, if at all. Their mobility is expressed by MAXs with jump jets, hover tanks, and a hover buggy. The speeds are very similar to the other Empires though.
