View Full Version : What is Exclusive Beta? (I just got invited via e-mail)

Yesterday I got the invite via email to be in "Exclusive Beta", and got a link to download. I have not done so yet, as I am still playing DAOC for now.

I was just wondering why people are waiting for CD's.... and what exclusive beta refers to.

two types of beta, exclusive and open.. exclusive you download the game and it has been going on for some time now and open which you receive an actual cd in the mail which people should be getting now.

Exclusive Beta - The NDA is in full effect, only a select few amount of testers are allowed in. Bug squashing and testing.

Open Beta - The NDA is usually lifted at the beginning or sometime near the end, greater amounts of people are invited in. Server stress testing.

Public Beta - The NDA has already been lifted, anyone can download and join in. Stress testing and building up a following.

It means you have a friend that loves you enought to invite you as a friend to join in Beta testing Planetside

It didnt say a friend invited me..... in fact, it said I could invite a friend.... <shrug>

If its from sony, that would imply that you were already selected for the beta.

which means you can play the game

Right... I just wasnt sure how the exclusive set of players was differnet from any others.

I'm going to take a peek, but if I dont end up playing, I'll share both beta accounts.

I didn't mean to come off as ignorant about what the beta account was about. I was just curious what exclusive referred to.... as I thought beta implied that...heh.

And I have a friend at work who is going to check it out with me, but if for some reason we dont stick with it, and I am able to transfer the ability to use the beta keys, I will gladly do so.
