Some of my friends now have their CDs and/or downloaded the client from exclusive email link so I assume the largest amount of people ever seen on the server will be on tonight. If the main server is the only one up and 5k get on, the others will have to sit around with their thumbs you know where?

well, I also think that they will change the max limit too, but I think that there are a few test servers, just not all are up all the time....

A server can't hold more then 2500-3000 they are a long ways off of 5000. Personally I do not see 5000 even happening.

Ex: There are currently around 420,000 registered and being-paid-for everquest accounts. Their record for the number online at once is 120,000.

Yeah that means when everyone gets their beta cd's, less then half are going to actually beable to play immediately. Muahhahaha hillarious, there will be about 20 bitching threads on psu alone saying that they cant find a server that's not full.

I just realize now it won't be everyone... I hope I'm able to get in when I finally do get that damnible CD. :(

yah when the game comes out how many people will they let register on a server... say they let 5000 people register will 5000 people always be able to play or will only 4000 people can play at once ... im asking this because i dont want to pay 10 bucks a month and not be able to get on at times .. i also dont plan on playing on mutliple servers

MMOGs work like this: when they get more subscribers than their servers can hold at peak times, they open new ones. Complicated!

Personally, and i was playing all day, ive only seen the three servers up. I dont doubt each server can handle 5000 people.

There will be no artificial cap on the number of accounts that can register for a server. Many, many more people will register for a server than will ever play during its peak time.

There will be enough servers to hold the aggregate number of subscribers that is likely to log in during the peak as well as a substantial buffer zone, and subscribers tend to distribute themselves semi-intelligently.
