well if there were towns, there would need to be NPCs to live in the towns. what would they do? not much. I doubt they will add it in. Besides, bases are already confusing enough!

no, no NPCs, ever, ever, ever
If they did have a town or 2, they could just leave them open for people to occupy the buildings, etc, no need for npcs
but the problem with cities/towns is the horrid lag problems from those objects, etc, I doubt anything will be added outside of other bases, etc

my dsl sucks as it is, it would lag to hell in urban areas in my opinion. Though it would be fun to have a kosovo style town.

Don't think any civilians came over through the wormhole, is anything edible there? Can't eat meat... we eat Jell-O? hehe
Plus there has never been towns... i doubt anyone is going to take the time to make any witha ll the wars, would be a waste.

It would be cool if one of the continents had a deserted city on it or something.
BTW, that wouldn't cause net lag if it was done right. If the engine isn't designed to handle it then it might make your computer lag, but nobody on this forum has any clue what the engine is capable of. Only dynamic (movable, destructable) objects cause lag and even then they don't cause that much lag if the net code is good and the number of dyanamic objects is kept minimal. Don't go preaching about things causing lag if you don't know what you're talking about.

There is some pretty crazy terrain out there, I bet the engine would handle urban areas easily. However, without some real reason to take cities, no one will. This is perfect material for an expansion, but it would have to be implemented very carefully.

its a good idea, but it wouldn't fit the storyline

Too late, Vulcan, there are already NPCs in the game. Have been ever since spitfire turrets went live.
