Is anyone else getting long ass times for the mega patch dlaod?

I have DSL, and my dload currently is 12 hours long. It estimates to finish at around 6 in the morning! Is anyone else getting this? I must play now!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!

ok waiit the first d/l i had was bout 2gigs that took 2 hrs, now this oatch is approx 268mb? and its taking em 5hrs? lol wtf?

Well i'd simply assume it's because the game was a sporadic and less available download. At the most they probably only had 100-150 downloads at the same time tops. The patch however is being downloaded by at least 2000 people at the same time.









That and they just like screwing with us. ;)

Probably something hosed with the patch server I would guess. But a 268 M patch? What are they thinking? Would seem wiser to put it out in more bite sized pieces.

Be aware that there are THIRTY THOUSAND (probably more than that, actually) people attempting to download this at the same time. It is going to be slow.

As for the size of the patch, most of it is in the form of altering the layout of the continents. That is not cheap, memory-wise. It is also not something that can easily be done in small pieces.

I've gotten up to 150 hrs of waiting time. All i did was cancel the downlaod, and restart it. Now it's almost done and i got 15 mins left. :D

Powda, I'm assuming you're not in beta. It used to take me 10 mins on dial up to get 1 meg. Gah! And that was if the site was stable. BTW, to get the patch alone it would take me about 50 hours if I was at that rate on dial up. Luckily, I'm on DSL, shitty, but fast enough
