About 1 min delay on chat, unstable sanctuary (nothing too new) and really unplayable. It has been great up until now, I may not try until next week with this crap. There will be a lot of unhappy people this weekend if they don't patch again.

5 - 12 second delay in chat, same with ANY commands I tried....

I went to the Training area... and first It locked up, then wehn I returned I was int he hallway, but the door wouldnt open, I tried recall, I tired IA, I tried suicide, FINALLY suicided, but the game hung up, when I RESTARTED I was in the training area, but that lasted 1 min before the game AGAINH locked up.

There were a BUNCH of new people wondering wahts so great about a laggy game....


The LAG was... unbelievable.

There is something seriously HOSED with the new patch, and with easter comming up, I expect the game to stay hosed.

Yes Warborn thank you, I wouldn't get fussy over something like that, its beta, and I trust the devs WILL fix it, but whomever did this patch, missed something, real big, real bad. It might be one small bit of code, but whatever it is, its BAD!

With all due respect Bossman, I DID point out I KNOW this is beta, and I am just saying, its currently plabethosed ATM. I know its gonna be fixed, but something has slipped through the QA and its not going to impress alot of these CD players that JUST got in today... they want to play PS not Lagfest, and thats what they will take from it. You know, and I know and 99% of the PSU forum hounds know this is Beta, and beta has.. issues at times.. but how many of the NEW beta testers are going to go to school on Monday and tell their friends how great the game was, or how pissed off they are at teh situationa nd not care about it being beta?

You both have good points.. I too know its beta and am disheartened a bit my first time in getting dropped a ton and having lag beyond belief. I personally will stick with it because I think its going to be incredible once the issues are fixed.

However I do agree with Mr Vic, someone seriously dropped the ball on this patch. big time.

My advice to folks who just want to play PS and not test, just go find something else to do and play when it goes into retail. Those who know what beta is for understand it, and are patient.

My opinion is that this is related to the sheer number of people trying to get in and taxing the servers. The login server is being hammered. The patch server is being hammered. The Sanctuary servers are insanely being hammered. That's what happens when you introduce 30,000+ people into it. Think of all the bandwidth and stuff.

I'm sure it's a networking issue and not a software issue. Let's all be patient and have fun while we do our best to test out this great game.

After downloading the megapatch the servers were all down. Then I log on and install another patch. Now my comp freezes whenever I try to log on.

It would have been good to iron out the megapatch before opening the floodgates. Not only because it would have been easier on the patch server, but also because they would already have worked out the new bugs (that invariably follow any big patch) before making thousands of first impressions.

On the other hand, I've seen the game and I already know I'm hooked. It could stay down for a week and I'd be waiting to play when it came back.

Same. However, how long it keeps my interested depends entirely on how organized etc the Outfit I'm a part of is. PS is very much a team oriented game, and it's only a fraction of the fun it normally is when you're not in a good, organized squad.

the server is barfing people out like crazy and the reaction time is hideous. It says press G to go to training room, i do, 5 minutes later im still not in, and then it crashes. The lag is absolutely hideous. And you cant even reload, i pressed R 10 TIMES and nothing. Then i changed the key and still nothing

pr disaster was an understatement. There are tons of n00bs who out there trying to login right now that have never played pside yet, and they're going to login to the servers being worse then i've ever seen them in my month of playing. Just really bad timing for all this stuff, first 2days of open beta have been utterly pathetic. I *KNOW* its gonna get better, and it will all be fixed, but i think they just lost some potential customers with this debacle

I take it you haven't had dealings with SOE before? Get used to it. Expect every patch to fuck something major up, it's the way it seems to work. They will fix it, they always do. But speaking from over 2 years experience with SOE/Verant through EQ, this is the norm /shrug
