Has anyone tried to reach service ceilings yet? Are they different for each aircraft, and do they give you an altimeter? Even an estimate on how high these things can go would be nice, but if they give you an altimeter, there can be exact numbers.

lets hope they keep ships well within render range of troops on the ground...

They can go up 400.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 meters before they force you down.

But is it possible to fly ships at an altitude so high that ground troops can't see them?

A tester told me you can take cloud cover, but I don't know about altitude, hence this thread.

You can see them in normal weatha at pretty much any altitude, in heavy fog, or snow or something, then NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well when i am in my reaver and i hit the after burners and go up to the limit 400 meters if i tilt my nose down i can barly see anything. you can always see them on your radar but all you see is a very small a dot on the ground and you would have no chance in hell in hitting them at that hight but they cant kill you either. I am not sure if you can lock on to anyone at the hight as it has not happen to me before. but the maxium height is very high

On searhus the crater is so high that at some points you are only 100 or so meters off the ground and at the flight cieling

Yeah, and some of the points in Searhus are so high, you can't fly over them , plz fix that devs, its annoying to crash into stuff all the time since you think you can fly over it

If its that big of an issue I suggest you post it in the beta forums

so say someone bails out of a galaxy at max height, does it take a significant amount of time to reach the ground or do people drop quickly?

if it helps, estimate in seconds

probably takes a little while hmm going to have to try that when the game will actualy let me in. keep on getting connection and it doesn't move from that spot.

Takes about 3-4 seconds to drop from about 3/4th the flight ceiling.
