[standard disclaimer] I'm not in beta, so anything stated in this post is either idle speculation, or just general cluelessness. [/standard disclaimer]

Alright, now then. From what I've been reading after the recent armor changes, it seems to me that a box AP and a nickel wil get you a cup of jack squat, or, if your trying to use it on anything sturdier then a Wraith, a quick, all expences paid, trip back to the spawn tube of your choice.

Is this what the beta testers have found? Is it worth carting around a few crates of AP ammo? Or is it better to dump 'em and just start carrying around a Decimater?

Thanks in advance.

you do not use AP ammo against infantry in regular armor it will be less effect the standard but aganst vehicles and maxs its a lot better.

example i have tried

when i use the chaingun while i am TR against a max with regular ammo it does jack shit but if i switch to the AP ammo it works wonders.

its a lot better against vehicles and i always carry two boxs of AP ammo.

I can drop a max with ap ammo all by myself - with regular you won't last 10 seconds.

Point of AP ammo in hand weapons is to take otu MAX and other light armored targets.

Is AP better against reinforced? I've never played either still waiting for my God Damn discs because in Canada they don't deliver mail on easter Friday... DAMN THEM ALL!

AP isn't better against Reinforced. Reinforced is more durable than Agile, but not by an enormous amount. Its primary benefit, IMO, is its increased inventory capacity. The added armor is nice, for sure, but being able to carry 2 rifles is better.

As for AP ammo, it's good against MAXs, and against light vehicles. Against heavy vehicles it becomes pretty much worthless though, so carrying an AV weapon is a good idea (although unless you have a lot of spare ammo, even an AV weapon will have a hard time taking out a tank, unless it's a Phoenix and you can attack from where they tank can't retaliate).

Hrmm, well, granted I'm going entirely on hearsay, but from the complaints I'm hearing it seems that after the patch thursday, that MAXes are able to shrug off several full clips of AP rounds and still come barreling down on you.

What I'm wondering is it's worth it to lug around these boxes of AP ammo or if they're just a watse of inventory space that could be better filled with, say a rocklet gun and a few missles.

I carry a box of AP ammo even though I haven't figured out which button to push to load it up yet. Guess I should have started with the training first but I couldn't stop myself from jumping in a raiding group once I picked up my gun.

Deafult is x, though I haven't had occasion to change ammo yet. Hope that helps.

Ok, thanks...I need to do the training missions. I'm sure it tells you how to play the game there. First time I died cause I didn't know how to jump out of a plane.
