At the Battle of San Jacinto, Sam Houston won freedom for the State of Texas against Mexico. The battle was over in 18 minutes, 650 Mexicans were killed and less than 10 Texans were lost. Seven hundred Mexicans surrrendered and Santa Anna jumped on his horse and tried to ride away like a little puss.

Of course, this was the battle where Sam Houston exclaimed "Remember the Alamo!"
