Whats wrong with the Jackhammer?

hi, I'm not in beta and I've seen loads of people complainin about the Jackhammer. I love shotguns, so it sounds like the god of weapons on paper. Whats wrong with it?!

First of all its a NC weapon... that alone makes it suck...

Now besides the obvious reasons (see above) its spread is way to big to actually be effective at anything but point blank range...

How does a shotgun sound like the god of all weapons on paper? First, if it was an actual shotgun, it might be useful, but no, it's basically more like a sawed off shotgun from what I've heard. A really long huge sawed off shotgun. A sawed off shotgun on paper makes it sound like you have to be at very short range to be any useful.

Shotguns are amazin! Unless you can't get to within pointblank range. In loads of games, you can clear entire rooms by shotgunnin your way through, kamikaze style.

Hey! I'm pretty hand with the M3 in CS :D People are like... "WTF - how'd you do that?" when I kill them and they ahve AK/m4. Regardless of CS, I really like the Scatter pistol? That one cool pistol thats like a mini shot gun, that thing sounds like fun

the mini-chaingun is actually the best of the heavy assault weapons.both the jackhammer and lasher are weapons you use in the hallways of a base. mini-chaingun can be used outside.

To be fair, the Minichaingun took a huge nerf with the last patch.

I am not sure if it is significantly better than the Lasher and the Jackhammer anymore.

I do know the Lasher got a boost so it might be atop the list of heavy weapons, however I have not gotten a chance to try out the post boost Lasher.

btw, the Lasher is good :)...I like the Pulsar better, but I think the Lasher could be put into Heavy Weapons IMO

About the Mighty NC weapons comment I posted, it's known as a joke a.k.a Having a laugh, look it up. Anyway, you should take bias with one empire. It's them you will be fighting for in the game and all your characters have to be part of it, so you might as well be proud and support it.

By the way Atlas you said you like the Pulsar over the Lasher, I dont play as VS so I am uneducated about how their guns really ending up being, why do you like it more? Just gathering informtaion.

Anyway, as Random already pointed out, the spread is too large to be effective. Currently, the basic Sweeper shotgun is more effective.

Comparing it to the Chaingun or Lasher is pretty silly atm. The gun's simply not finished. :(

The sweeper is awesome.

I can get the gauss AND the sweeper for two certs, but the jackhammer costs 4? No thanks.

Just makes me sad to think what the jackhammer could be..

IMO they should make the jackhammer like the NC AI max... with three different spreads, and then nerf the damage... its pretty useless on anything that is more than 1 meter away as it is...

Ohh, and the lasher is cool outside too... just spray those orbs near their feet, so the actually take damage ;)
Personally i dont like the pulsar... its to little damage for me :D
But it has near no recoil... just burst and chrouch and ull hit with all your shots. Same with cycler and gauss, allthoug u migth want to take quick pauses once in a while.
