3 Empires. Which one to join?

Hello im new to the forums and the Planetside community. I am currently looking for an outfit but am not sure which Empire to join. Currently alot of people are in BETA, so they should have decided what Empire they like the best... Sadly im not in the BETA and cannot decide. I've gone on all of the Empire's websites but im still not sure. Thats why I was wondering whether you could all reply and post your reasons why you think I and others should dedicate there time playing for the empire which you have chosen.

It is personal preference really. I am going to choose Vanu b/c they seem like the underdogs... more people to kill and such. And I like the mobilty they offer as well

The NC are the underdogs, both personnel and story-wise. Do you want to join techno-cyborg freaks, crazed dictators, or a band of freedom-fighters? Purple, Red, or Blue? Lasers, Metal Spewers, or Punch-Packing Magnet Guns? Your choice, but NC seems the best to me.

I'm also going vanu sovereignty. I have a number of reasons why I went this way. First reason was the back ground story. I read all 3 back ground stories and the VS sounded like the most peacefull of the 3. On top of that I just prefer energy weapons over balistic weapons. And I made a note of sticking with which ever I chose so after i chose VS as my faction I made it a note to myself that I would stick with VS no matter what new things come to light to me regarding the other 2 factions.

Hmm. Thanks. I'd still like more people to post if possible. At the moment Vanu seem top of my list. But im still not to sure... What empire(s) do you think will be on the attack most of the time..? Or is that a silly question?:confused: :confused: :confused:

I think it's safe to say there will be a lot of attacking going on all three fronts. I am partial to the Terrans for their ravishing good looks.

You can join all 3 if you want, they have 3 servers (Beryl, Citrine, and Emerald) and I am all 3 factions

TR-Beryl
NC-Citrine
VS-Emerald

I play NC on one server and TR on another. When the game goes live, I'm going NC because that's what my outfit decided to do. Here are my personal opinions:

I like TR's weapons the best.
I like NC's vehicles the best.
I like VS's armor the best.
I like TR's color scheme the best.
I like all the MAXes.
I don't really like any of the backstories enough to want to fight for them.
All the things I use with my main character are common pool, so I don't really care which side I fight for

I thought the servers were like: US East coast.. Or something like that..?:confused:

In beta there are those 3 servers mentioned but when the game is released there will be the west coast, central, etc. though they may have different names and there maybe multiple servers to every general location. I'd like to add as a sidenote that I think the VS will be attacked the most as I hear more words spoken against them and more paticularly their purple color scheme compared to any other.

Well, the USA_east, west, etc aren't set up quite yet.

Anyway, airlift raises a good point. What do you want to do exactly?

If you want to pilot, I'd suggest TR just because you won't have to go up against soldiers with strikers.
If you want to drive tanks, I'd seriously suggest NC.
MAX? Probably VS.

Just read about the weapons and vehicles and see which ones would probably appeal to you the most when you are doing whatever you think you'd like to be doing.

I would wait until you get in the game to decide which faction to fight for. I was a staunch TR supporter, but after 2 days of play, I'm having the most fun with my VS char. It's just a small sample, and I haven't even played as the NC yet, but I would consider the TR and Vanoooo total opposites, so you never know...

look at what every empire has to offer and then choose on your likings. i'm Terran, thats my choice.

Actually, I believe that the NC are more peaceful. They merely wanted to get away from the Terrans, they even offered peace with the Vanu. The Vanu reject the offer, and start a war with the TR, soon, the NC is dragged in.

actually flameseeker, the NC started the fighting with the VS, because they thought they were the reason the TR were attacking, which was wrong because the TR were paranoid cause the VS shot down the TR's biggest ship. Also the VS sent a treaty to NC, not the other way around, check the official VS site, the answer they got from NC will be there.

I was going to go Vanu, but decided to go NC because I like their weapons better. From what I have seen of the VS weapons they are all just silly laser beams. :D

heh heh...asking which empire to join NC on this forum (or any PS forum for that matter) will get you nowhere because NC you'll get an equal amount of people for NC each of the empires...its NC personal preference really......NC

but to back my empire (NC....if you haven't...already noticed O_o) we got the cool magnetically powered gauss rifle (environment friendly!) and the best looking combat knife of the 3 :p

but if all else fails, choose the empire that is/is closest to your favorite color(s)

Blue & Yellow = go NC

Red & Black = go TR

Purple & Aqua :rolleyes: = go VS

hey, just do what i did, and go for the best color scheme, and thats (in my oppinion) the Vanu Sovierjshjscgjsy, cos they look cool (to me), so dont worry about the wepons or the armour, just go with what looks cool.

TR have best color

NC have best weapons

VS have the best looking armor (not color, but model)

I've always been a technology junky, choosing the most advanced stuff..but I couldn't bring myself to play in purple armor...(although the reflectivity of the VS armor does kinda make it look pretty cool)

Well what im gonna do is try and find a squad for any Empire that plays on the Euro server. However if there a big squad and have 100+ members and play on the East coast server. I'll most probably join that :D

Yeh at the moment Terran are at the top. But it all depends on finding a TERRAN OUTFIT that plays on the EURO or EAST COAST server.. Heh.

Ok, so I played a Vanu last night on the Emerald Server, and it was good. They've really done a lot for the VS weaponry, especially the Pulsar. All three sides are fun, so don't worry about it too much. After release there will be a mechanic that will allow you to defect to another empire when yours gets old.

I chose TR cause I like the idea of spray and pray that the minigun and cycler offer you. Plus the bug eyed goggles are just disturbin' to look at.

I think that Vanu and NC have really cool armor types, but nothin' beats the color scheme of the Red and Black. (Go Dawgs!! - sorry, University of Georgia reference).

Vanu has some impressive MAXs. NC has a brutal Tank.

I have to say I like the TR just because of their colour, weapons (cycler especially:D) and I like the idea of a ruthless imperialistic empire that owns the galaxy (no star wars refferance).

BTW homing owns fly-by-wire (Phoenix).
