Me=:mad:^2

For some reason, a little more than a week ago, the system stopped recognizing my hard drive. For the entirety of Holy Week I couldn't use my PC. I had to play on my dad's. The problem with that is that (A): He doesn't want me to install the PS beta there (You'll crash my PC) and (B): He has one game: Day of Defeat mod for H-L.

I took advantage of the situation and pushed for (and got) a slightly larger hard drive than the fried 40GB IBM (I was running out of space). I now have a Western Digital 80GB with 8mb something.

Ok, so I...nm...my dad (never lets me have control) installed Windows XP Pro. Basically, he screwed the first installation up by installing some mainboard drivers that anulled my PC's abilty to close. I couldn't close a window, program, or Windows. Not even the Three Finger Salute worked.

He wanted to nuke my HD. Again.

I smartly decided to repair it, and it's working now. I asked him if I should install Support Pack 1, and he said yes. It went fine, and he got the other stuff. It worked fine. Except that the display drivers are not working at all. I've tried nVidia's 43.15 and the 41.09, neither works.

Guess what?

I have to format.

You know what's fucking funny?

I am holding the fucking beta CD in my fucking hands right now, and I can't do a thing with it.

Try the 30.85 display drivers. 4x.xx display drivers are utter, total crap.

This is not Tech Support. Regardless of what I do, I re-install everything tomorrow.

My dad has left to go work, and I fixed the PC by installing the 43.15 drivers FIRST, then SP1.

Now all I have to do is get the sound working and then I install this. *holds up PS Open Beta CD*

I feel your pain aztec

Only after throughly owning my father would he trust me with the computer, and stop asking me "Do you have any idea what your doing?" whenever i messed with some options for him. I was always better, but the way I see it, configuring your comp to your needs is always 1. Try it 2. if it dosent work, get rid of it and 3. try something else.

I now own the computer. :D

just show ur dad whos boss.

(mess with the bios, so it wont recognize ur HD again, then magicly fix it. that might show him :D)

or ignore me (prolly the best idea)

Good Luck
