hey people wats up! i was wondering if planetside was living up to the name man, i all hear is "we got a base stolen by a solo hacker.", or " man a MAX came out of no where and blew me away." so well gusy is it team play or not!!! cuz if it ain't i ain't going to play i'll stay wih ghost recon  i dn't wanna play as a solo medic out in the middle of nowhere trying to find a decent squad, i knwo you can jus hook one up but i guess when you play enough battle field 1942 "you get a company sized force idea in your head" cuz look at that game it took plenty of men just to get a bunker! but here 1 guy can virtuly own a continent, it seems to me that it's stealth warz and not team play. but go abotu your lives meh meh meh meh

I havent been playing alot, but my experience so far is that the servers are kinda empty...
I played today with 1000 ppl on a server, and i seriously didnt see much action... i went from base to base with my squad, and hacked a few of em...
Npbody came to protect it anyway...
But i guess that it will be better if there is 10000 ppl on the server...

My main concern is to many bases, the fightings spread way to thin, either remove some of the bases or make it a matrix where you have to take certain things.

Now I am usually the last person on the planet to mock people for bad spelling or grammar, but come on, I counted 26 errors.
I do not speak AOL very well, but I think you are asking if teamplay is working well.
It works well when you are with a group of people that you know and want to work with. There are always going to be people like you that never listen to the commander and are impossible to work with.

I always go to the action hot spots. I can usually find a group that I can join.

Solo Hackers get pwnt by an organized squad. Solo MAXes get pwnz4rt by an organized squad. Solo anything gets qwntizzed by an organized squad. You can play this game solo, but you will either have to join a zerg rush or try to find someplace with no/little resistance.
I usually play with 4-6 regulars (depending on who is on from our outfit) and we generally invite people we find along the way to fill out our ranks. A lot of friendly solo players will show up once you start banging in a facillity because people without squads like to use the Instant Action feature which keys on hot spots. In this way, it is easy to pick up new squad members in the middle of a battle.
There is no effing way that 1 guy can own a continent.

thats why they made this game, it is supposed to have team play and to me team play makes it 1000000 times better then solo... cause when you got that many ppl and you can form squads and stuff like that that is what makes it cool.

Bah-
If you aren't in a squad, you're not going to get shit done. I've yet to see a hacker all by himself just hack a base. You do realize that you can send people off on their own ahead of you to hack a tower so you can have place to respawn. Sure you get a some noobs running around not in a squad, but if you're in a squad that noob only lasts a second. People bitch because they suck or are stupid.
As far as battle sizes - I've been involved with over 150 people. Once release comes along and platoons are integrated the battle sizes will double.

Does PS make it a cooperative squad atmosphere? Sure. It does a terrific job of it. It gives players the tools to operate in a functioning squad with good tactics, but it remains up to the players themselves whether they make use of such tools.
Like all other multiplayer games, you will find people that fit the broad range of descriptions: from solo maverick types all the way to highly organized and disciplined squads and outfits. I've been in pickup squads that were disorganized and where no one talked to one another. It seemed all they wanted was BP, plain and simple. I'm in an outfit now that is team oriented and utilizes strong squad level tactics.
The bottom line is, if you want good squad play, get in with others that think the same way and stick with them. PS is much more fun when you are in a good squad.

Almost every night i get in huge heated battles of 20-40 people. Get a squad, get a galaxy (optional) and fly around to a hot area and drop in and join the slaughter fest.
I have phantom hacked a few bases, just to see how it was done. Not really that much fun. The real fun comes in the heated battles.
I don't understand how people say this game is empty. Hit the instant action (works randomly now... but they say they are working on it) or look on your map and find a base near the boundry of two factions.

Empty?! When and where are these people playing?
I can't swing a dead Vanu around without hitting one of my own Terrans when I'm on. There are times when I cannot even see a base on my mini map through all the friendly blue dots and vehicle icons laid atop of it...

they must be playing during off hours. When I get home from work, the servers are usually down. When they come back up however, Beryl has 3000 on it immediately, and there is definitely not a shortage of fighting :/

I think this game is extremely Squad based to be successful. I've been chillin' with some folks for a few days now, they invited me into their Outfit and we've been tearin' it up.
Last night, we found ourselves in a 3 faction battle for four bases on Sear. It was intense. We had captured Pganur (is that spelled right?) and moved onto to Pele while more of our TR brethren began fillin' the other base up. Well, it didn't take long for NC to mount an attack from the Tower near Pele.
I did see a true first for me. Parapet Base defense. There were enough people on both sides to have gun turrets mounted, and men manning the walls trying to defend, while NC troopers did an excellent job using terrain around the base to their advantage.
My squad and another worked extremely well together keeping Pele cleanly defended from NC. But the NC folks played it smart and also launched an attack on our other base. Myself and a squad mate made a suicide rush to try and rehack the base (before the NC could capture).
I think we caught them by surprise cause we got into the CC room and nearly made the rehack. they got me at 95%... doh!!
But our two man raid caused enough confusion that Pele was secured. Throw in the fact that VS held one of the bases in the same area, it made for some crazy crossfire. And it wasn't a zerg fest. All sides were working extremely with their respective factionmates, and there really wasn't too much "blind" rushing (except for maybe our rehack atempt).

I wanted to be a medic too, but when I saw wot a non-teamwork game this really is in which medics cant do nothing I realized I cant be one.
Thx to this-you HAVE TO have AV weapons, everyone has, they take space as hell which sux for a medic.
You need to shoot 200 shots at someone to kill him, and that means u have to load more ammo in ur inventory, which means u dont get any space for Medical Applicators.
And couse Medical applicators simply suck at this time, anyway thats wot every1 says.

Well, if you want to be a dedicated medic, don't expect to be able to also tote around an AV weapon and tons of ammo. Apparently, the devs wanted the game mechanics to require that medics need to stick with a squad that will protect them. How does this make PS a non-teamwork game? If you want to carry around a bunch of ammo and frag a bunch of people don't be a medic. On the other hand, if you want to heroically heal squadmates while pinned down by enemy fire with only a Suppressor to protect yourself, by all means consider being a medic.

yea, to me medics are the most important in squads, cause they help out more than ya think... they give ya health..... they can bring ya back to life at a high cost lol..... and they get a weapon to protect themselves... medics are a must in squads when attacking bases and gettin into fire fights.

Being able to convey your ideas clearly and concisely is important in every aspect, not just a message forum. If you appear to be a moron when typing, more than likely, you are a moron. Just how it works.
It isn't much taking 30 more seconds perhaps on something you just typed to make sure it makes sense, and looks okay so your able to get your point across. Sure saves you from double, triple, or quadruple posts explaining how your not in english or some such excuses.

This is where I believe alot of the people that say the game is "boring" come from. I still occasionally see 1 or 2 players walking to a base to assault it on their own, but that rarely accomplishes anything. There is no question that getting into the fray with squad-mates make the game MUCH more enjoyable. You will see the occasional infiltrator hacker running around away from the fighting, capping bases to gain BEPs, but that doesn't strike me as being fun at all.
I do have an advanced VS hacker, and I did take 1 base with only 1 squadmate after entering. I hacked and the 2 of us defended an entire base against the NC, but it wasn't well defended at all because we only killed about 8 NCs trying to re-hack.(It could also be that the NC is really dumb ;) )

Hehe, I was in that Searhus battle for hours last night, it was still raging at 3:30 when I left. One of the better long term all sides wars I have been in for sure. All 3 sides were working very well to both gain and protect territory with a lot of variety in types of units around. Its nice to be able to work in one area for a long time and be able to go make some strikes and protect at the same time.
All sides seemed to be made up of mostly decent squads, so always coordinated attacks and defenses, which is great for my Adv Eng, Adv Hack, Infil.
Boomers Mwahaha.

Feign,
I left at 2AM (right after the TR gained control of Pele - my hack :D even though I'm straight infantry. Our hacker was killed :( ) Where were u? Did u see the kamikaze TR harasser?
heh heh heh.. that was me. slammed it right into the side of Pele trying to crush a NC MAX unit. My squad leader asked me to create a diversion, apparently it worked as my and a mate just drove (he gunned) all around Pele for 5 minutes. i had Two reavers and a couple of maxes shootin' at us until I slammed into the wall.
ouch. We did manage to hop out and get safely inside.
