Last night i picked up my galaxy cert (i know, driving a galaxy isn't very Ninja'ish)... picked up a squad and headed to Ishundar.

That place is hell to find a place to park a gal. I flew around for about 5-10 minutes looking for a place to park, while my compadries were down there having all the fun (and getting exp).

Galaxy drivers are the class everyone wants in their squad, but no one seems to want to be, now i see why. It's kind of a thankless job.

Anyone have any tips on landing, handling or general tips on galaxy driving?

You can land on buildings? I tried landing in the courtyard of a base and kept getting the "you will cause damage to your vehicle if you land here" message.

In most situations you wont need to use a Galaxy to move a squad around after you have reached a destination (From Sanctuary usually). Just fly it in, hot drop your squad and deconstruct it. If you plan on doing tons of travelling just make sure someone in your squad can get some vehicles, a Sunderer a couple tanks or even harrasers are all you need to move a squad between facilities and they provide a lot more firepower for your squad and a lot more difficult target.

Galaxies should be used for long distance moving only, once combat begins ditch em, but dont leave them around to be hacked (I know I just love hacking an enemy Gal I find in the middle of the field).

speaking of sunderers, can one (or a delieverer) fit into a Galaxy?

I know a sunderer, tank and AMS cant fit in (from personal experience) not sure what else can't.

It is ok to cause a little dmg to your vehicle, esp if you are carrying an engineer besides you might wanan slow down a bit because that will cause more damage then you might think.

Ok, speaking of the deliverer. I have really only driven the deliverer and sunderer in VR. Can someone give me one good reason to get the deliverer cert over the sunderer cert? Yeah i know it's amphibious, but what else does it have going for it that would make it worth spending 3 certs on it rather than a sunderer.

I too have problems finding landing spots on most continents, but usually one side of a base is nice and flat, usually by a road.

I have also landed inside a facilities courtyard, but this is the trickiest and should only be done if absolutely no resistance is expected.

*****For a side note, when your pilot tells you to DROP or JUMP, press alt + G. My squad got slaughtered because half didn't know how to get out when told.*****

Good question.... I don't think i have seen a Deliverer on the battle field yet!

^yeah i mean.. sunder = 3 certs, deliverer = 3 certs. Sunderer holds more people + max units, and it has 2 75mm cannons.. Deliverer can drive over water (which is cool, but i mean.. is it THAT cool??).

They can't make the deliverer 2 certs (or could they? :brow: ), or what would be the point of getting a harasser, except for speed I guess.

well, the harasser is a good anti inf combo with the enforcer

What to do if you get the "You cant land here, you MIGTH cause damge to your viechle!":

1: Ignore it... land anyway... It aint gonna destroy ur galaxy, unless u are on a REALLY steep slope, or a mountainside. And u aint trying to land on a mountain, are you?

2: Ditch the galaxy. Press ALT+G and see that big bird chrash into the ground.
U properly wont need it after u have brougth ur team to the facility of your choice.
And a tip: Try and fly at a speed and direction that have a chance of hitting something enemy'sh. Its a long shot, but if you take half a vanguard out by doing it, it was worth it ;)

I want to kamakazi a sunderer or another galaxy (enemy) once, just to day i did it.

I don't know about you other galaxy drivers, but i am more nervous flying in the sanctuary than i am when i am under fire over an enemy base.

I think people purposefuly ram into full galaxies in sanc just to grief people. At least i hope it's purposful and there arn't that many stupid people flying around. Call me an optimist.

^the sanctuary is an evil place. Last night in the sanctuary I was run down by this lunatic in a reaver twice who was flying full speed at ground level just mowing through as many people as he could hit. My worst enemies are fellow TR

You can land the galaxy? Who knew?

No just kidding, the best place to land the galaxy is on the roads leading out of the bases, and you can normally find a good clearing about 200 yards outside of each base too.

Lightnings and wraiths also fit inside gals, havnt tried to get a basilisk in yet, but hey why not?

DELIVERERS OWN! They are much faster then sunderers, they also have two guns(its not the size, its how you use it ;) ), and they have tons of armor. Sure you cant take maxs with you, but you sure can run um over! Most tanks go down with 2 or 3 mines, my deliverer only notices the 4th one. You dont need to worry about finding bridges, and if you can get on top of it you can follow the deliverer over the water with whoevers inside. I love these things.

One thing that pisses me off is the random spawns of vehicles and units after coming through a warp gate. Last night I had my squad starting out in TR Sanc. He wanted to get to Hossin. Long flight from TR Sanc. Have to go Forensal->Ceryshen->Hossin.

Anyways, a fully loaded galaxy, we get through Forensal, and fly to ceryshen warp gate. I go through the warp gate, everything loads, pop, look at map, ok, SE. Start to move.

BOOOOOM!

My galaxy blows up. The damn warp gate spawned my galaxy with a tree going straight through the middle of the galaxy. As soon as it started to move the thing went into a violent spin and blew up instantly. Warp spawns need to be checked out.

BTW, I find galaxies very useful... Transporting a squad from base to base works very well because it promotes team work within the squad and it really helps cut down resistance entering a base as 7,8, 9 whatever people than charging in one after another with no order at all. Plus it helps when you really need a fast ANT run.

Ok, I was always under the impression these things were very weak.. but I'll give it a shot tonight :)

I haven't seen a Lighting, Deliverer or a basilisk on the battlefield yet. I'm going to have to make an alt or two to test them out.

Heh, I saw a Lightning attack my AMS in an attack and I raped it easily. It's good for one man going alone but it's not very strong.

An AMS beat a lighting? I wonder if that dude recalled to sanctuary and switched certs immediatly?
