I built my first computer!!!!! It actually WORKS!!!

Asus A7N8X Mobo w/ onboard lan
ATI Radeon 9700pro
Soundblaster Live! 5.1
80GB Western Digital HD
52x CDRW
2x 512MB Corsair w/ heatspreader RAM

I am d/l-ing 3Dmark03 right now to run some benchmarks.. I'll reply here w/ the results.

Nice comp man, this summer with the money i get from my (first) job i'm going to pimp my rig a little bit

yeah, i just got the geforce fx series, was surprised that i could find one out, they said they had released a limited amount early and bought it direct from some of the guys i know that work for geforce. problem is, system is still in beta, and it causes a stupid frick'n memory dump when the graphics get cranking. had to upgrade the bios for my motherboard and everything forever, just because i wanted the best computer out there. flat pannel lcd 19 in, athlon 2800 if I remember correctly. thing runs like a dream... except when i try to play games, which is the freaking reason i made it. that and has the dvd+r/rw dvd-r/rw burner drive by sony. all at warehouse cost. but the videocard is being a mother currently. stupid winfast!

Well, apparently the first boot of that comp was really bad, so the BIOS went into safe mode. A lot of the stuff was clocked back and reset, so I think that's why I got such a sucky score on 3dmark03. I'll talk to some comp people in IRC and hopefully boost that score.

Actually with 3Dmark2003 everyone gets low scores, can't remember exactly right now, I'll look it up later and post the reason.

Ok, with 3dmark 2003 the baseline for scoring has been reset, so systems do not get 11k points so early on in it's release. Also 3dmark 2003 has received wide criticism from various sources, including nVidia, link. (http://www4.tomshardware.com/column/20030213/index.html)
