I am about to gain BR6 and was wondering what the best implant was for an infiltrator. I hear a lot of people singing the praises of Darklight, but I have never had a problem with infiltrator killing me. I am always more patient then them, so I end up killing them. :D I have also heard that alot of infiltrators get Melee booster, but I have never made a single knife kill, or have any plans to make any knife kills in the future, I like my repeater much better. :D I was thinking surge, what do you guys think? What is a good first implant for a infiltrator?

PS: I mean implant!!!! I must have patches on the mind. :D You know how that is :)

Silent Run would probably be a good option if people used the Audio Amplifier. I am not too sure how many peeps out there use that implant to detect stealthers though.

The thing is, if an enemy stealther has darklight they will be able to see you while you cant see them. :p

Either surge or adv targeting would be good. You don't really make that much noise when you move anyway. Surge is good to get your ass out of the battle quickly. Targeting is good to let you know who is already damaged and would be an easy kill for your knife or pistol.

choose from audio amplifier, silent run, or melee booster.

Knife without melee booster = almost worthless.

Knife with melee booster = more powerful than pistol at close range.

Get melee boost and carry a bunch of grenades. :D

I personally would go with (and have gone with) the surge implant, as it boosts your speed while you are at the same visibility as running full speed without the surge implant. Melee booster, I guess, but I'm not that type of stealth. Why would you want to use Audio Amp as a stealth? Silent step is what you'd want, although I don't know many players who use the Audio Amp. So, in my opinion, Surge, unless you like using knives, then use the melee booster. Audio Amp and Darklight would be for Max's, and the rest I feel are crap.

This may be just me, but I wouldn't take a pistol at all as an Infiltrator. Essentially, if they see you you're pretty much dead. I'd take the Melee Booster or Surge implant, the Adv. Hacking and/or Combat Engineering cert and an REK.

Assassins would be good with the Melee booster if they want to get dirty hands.

But if you kill someone, you risk them having Darklight and respawning and alerting the whole base. I'd rather have Surge (to get the heck out of there) or Advanced Targeting so I can tell exactally what I'm up against.

melee boost is killer if you're patient enough to use your knife

in the long run i'm going to get:

melee boost
darklight
adv regen

The pistol is good for when some idiot come in alone to rehack the cc. Makes it easy to kill him without having to walk up to him. Plus, since you are shooting him from behind, he doesn't know exactly where you are (as opposed to if you knife him, he knows that you are right beside him).

Doesnt matter, if he is hacking there is no way he can turn around before the knife falls.

Pistol carrying infil = possible "OMFG l33t MAX killer infil dude!!!" :p

I love killing MAXs in infil, hard but doable. :D

That said 1st implant i'd go with.

Adv Regen, Melee booster or DL.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt. Darklight. If you dont and the next guy does. You lose. Simple as that. When you do run into one that has it, while you do not. You'll end up giving up the stealth suit and engaging the enemy stealther w/a shitload of plasma nades and frags. At least thats how it went down, me vs. TR Acoa. He was just pistol whippin everyone. The plasnade is good against the stealther since plasma is sticky. Giving you an opportunity to actually shoot the sticky green invisable man. But at the same time, you gotta know where to spam for him.

Melee boost would be my second selection. This is where the fun stuff begins.

In my experience, ppl dont hear shit anyway so i would hold off on silent run. The only time you'd need it is against DL/AA. cuz, why would you get audio amp before darklight?

Advanced Regen. would save you space in your inventory if you carried a healthkit or two. But then again, healthkits can be scavenged.

Pistols can be scavenged too but the knife takes up on space. And as posted earlier. The knife is worthless without the booster. Other implant combos would have some success. But the DL/MB owns all.

Darklight is very useful, not many players with it now, but as the players get up in level so will the amount of players with this implant.

Advanced targeting is good, that little pea shooter we got doesnt do much damage, but see a target at 10-40% life, pop it. get the points.

The small weapons have been improved in this latest patch, so lets see how that works out.

So my stealth guys 3 implants would be. Darklight, Advanced Targeting, and Surge.

But I will probably try them all eventually to see what really works best in the field.

I have used darklight and Adv targeting, and I liked them, my new char doest have any implant yet, I hate not knowing the life levels of stuff now. Heck i will try and take out a Max, if he is not above 30% health. otherwise id be dead real quick.

Heh, I'd love to see an infiltrator try to knife a MAX but the MAX is at full health.......ohhh messy messsy messsssy
