Now... I for one think that's awesome. I mean, that is THE reason I want to play Planetside. What do you guys think?

Perhaps the reason why there is so much fighting over the Lattice system is because we all have a different way of invisioning our perfect "PlanetSide?"

Problem #1 is video lag. That's a lot of poly's to render, texture, light and calculate shadows for.

Problem #2 is the number of people you have to know about, in other words network lag. So many more people are now inside the network occlusion system the raw amount of data that needs to be sent now is shooting way up.

Although I'm not against big battles. Forcing them into creation causes these two things.

Vehicles make the number of people and crowding in that picture overly pronounced. Needless to say, I think tank columns rolling across chokepoints is one of the highlights of PS. Today I had a battle on one of the lesser populated servers that was like Attack of the Clones.

Heh, i think i might have been on the receiving end of that exact force. Of course, a brigade of tanks like that didnt show up until later in the battle and by then a group like that was considered small.

The video lag wasn't too bad for me. The killer was the crash bug, not the lag. I personally think the scale of the battles is amazing, especially with the awesome new tracers. Either way, that screen looks like it's taken on Cyssor, and as we all know, Cyssor is the #1 continent for massive battles. In other words, you can go to other continents for smaller scale battles if you'd like.

Yeah, if you were planning on crossing that bridge you'd want an APC of some sort to prevent being run over.
Of course, with the deliverer, why bother with the bridge?

Cyssor will be packed and others will become populated with about 100,000 people signing on and getting registered.

Vehicle battles are what makes Planetside. The only thing wrong with T2 in the vehicles aspect is that they were limited...so you could only have like 2 tanks on a team at one time, which sucked!
