This is my first post by the way.

I love the concept of this game and hope to play it when it comes out, but I am concerned by the amount of people that are voting in the polls to do covert-ops and the amount of people wanting to use the bolt-rifle.

This leads me to my question, how will planetside limit the use of people who think they are 1337 snipers?

Thankfully, the bolt-rifle will require multiple hits to kill, but what else? Will there be limited sniper rifles in a countries weapon pool? Limited certifications? What about scope sway?

Personally, I would like to see scope sway that is based on realistic swaying of the rifle. And yes, I own several rifles so I have a feel as to what I am talking about.

Anyways, snipers would by my biggest concern in planetside, and I was wondering what else was being done to limit them.

I think there already is a scope sway factor and I thought I read about an aim stablizer implant. I was also curious if the magnification implant will work with a scope to give you super magnification.

You own rifles, but are you a precision shooter?

I'm a Marksman myself, and there is -very- little rifle sway when using the right position and equipment (unsupported standing = bad for sniping).. most games often overexadurate the rifle sway for snipers making sniping harder to keep on target then it really is, most trained snipers can keep the cross hairs around the target(or at least circling around the persons body), without too much difficulty for the first 14 seconds, after that the muscles do start to strain and rifle sway is more noticeable, but thats getting into a lot more detail... in general, snipers dont have a great deal of 'sway', at most some circling around the target is the common

... I was beginning to think we'd go a few days before someone started another sniper thread. It embiggens the heart to see this horse dragged back out and flogged in public.

Just look through al the old posts and find anything over 4 pages. It's either about sniping, or the Galaxy being King of the air.

yes having 1300 snipers could get pretty bad but just imagin the movie lords of the ring and all the bow men that would be a good idea if under a mass attack

I hope we end up with Anti-Sniper Man who runs around ridding the world of n00b snipers and campers that just sit there and prey on unsuspecting Stalefishies. He'd be my hero. :p

That would be my friend, Da king. He's immune to most snipers.
