I think I'll be killin to the sounds of DMX, Talib Kweli and Jurassic 5. Good killin music!

i don't listen to music in games any more, i found out that it's generally funner (especially in game like PS and halo that already have sweet music) to play the games with regualr sounds going. and then you can hear explosions and gunfire too ;) planetside sounds way better when you have it turned up with t3h headphones

I soon as I put my hands on a reaver, I'll put the volume of my Hi-Fi on max, and use my microphone to diffuse "The Walkyries's ride", by Wagner. Apocalypse now rules !

I never listen to music when playing a FPS. The information the game sounds provide alone are far too important to be replaced by music.

In PS, sound effects aren't nearly as important, I was playing with no sound effects the other day. It seems like naked gameplay, but otherwise didn't affect my performance. I think the way you are warned about where you are getting hit from helps a lot if you use it.

But seriously - Music aside: Is 3D sound any good in PS?

(Not in beta but I've pre-ordered.) I play with earphones and trust my ears alot when it comes to FPS. You often know where the enemy are, way before You see them, that way.

no specific music really i usually anything thats fairly fast with a beat.. depending on the game.. I like rock for FPS and like classical for Strategies, and Techno for RPG's.. I would think i would be listening to Rock for this game??":)

Anyways, I listen to a very wide variety I music while I shoot people (not in PS, of course, but in other FPS's). Anything from classic rock (AC/DC, Kansas, Queen), to 80's technopop (Thomas Dolby mostly, but with a few other one-hit-wonders thrown in), to more modern stuff (BNL, Blues Traveler, Offspring). Basically anything with a good beat that you can dance to... ;)

i switched out the ingame music with my own. keep in mind the auto-patcher will overight them so use the .exe unless a new patch is out, when new patch comes out, just save the files and replace once patched.

I honestly never understood how someone can listen to music in a combat situation game like PS.

thats just too distracting in combat. I do however use it to pump me up before entering the fray.

I run my music low so it doesn't interfere with in game sounds. Last couple times I have played it has been Hybrid Theory and the first Godsmack album. NIN, sometimes some good dark techno, all depends on my mood and what I am actually doing in game ;)
