My specs are good:

XP
p4 1.9ghz
64mb geforce3ti500
512ram

The problem is my computer just started sucking right before PS beta came out. What I mean by sucking is that everything is choppy. I cannot play a flash or shockwave game from www.addictinggames.com without it being choppy. Thats funny because I bought this computer last yr thinking it was pretty damn good and would last me a while. Maybe its because of me downloading too much stuff (but I tried deleting it all) or having to much music or whatever. But I dont think that is it, I actually have no idea what is wrong. I cant reinstall XP because I would lose a bunch of files that I need, work etc., but I think that may be my last ditch effort. I am in exclusive beta, and I lost my download link, so I might have to find a way to save 2 gbs worth of files. Maybe saving the launchpad will work. I guess Ill see, but from now until then I am stuck watching Malvision movies.

Can anyone help?

There was a patch by Microsoft recently that actually caused a lot of people to see slowdowns in their computers. There is more information about it and the problem in the FAQ on the MS Knowledgbase page:

More information from some folks here:

Microsoft has acknowledged the problem. You can uninstall the patch and see if that helps.

Good luck!

First, I suggest checking for virus's.

Second, I'd suggest fragging the drive and reinstalling windows. Good learning experience.

I already degragged. That didnt help. My last ditch effort is going to be reinstalling windows.

I didn't say defrag. I said frag. Destroy. Eliminate. Format.

try reinstalling graphics card drivers, mobo drivers etc, update direct x, that kind of thign, if you bought it a year ago there most probably out of date.

Make sure you got all the latest drivers for your video card. A lot of people forget to check for the latest ones off and on.

if you cant get task manager to come up with ctrl+alt+delete,
try right clicking your Taskbar and going to Task Manager.
If that still doesn't work, i dont know what to tell ya. Follow above steps i guess.
