can machineguns/cannons take down missles?

hey guys, was wondering what defense tanks and such what have against missle weapons. any way in hell you could shoot down a pheonix with the machinegun on a tank, such as the prowler? kind of like the ageis missle defense system on battleship. or am i just smoking crack?

Nope cant do it, and its a phalnax system that shoots down missles, ageis is a system of radar on a ship.
