HELP!! This is getting quite annoying, my specs are good -

p4 1900
gefroce3 ti500 64mb
512 ram

Now what the hell is wrong with my computer? I can now play flash games on the internet, but still not PS. I turn down the effects but that doesnt help. If there are 2 people firing on the same screen I just get choppy, and 9 times out of 10 the next frame I see is the on telling me how much time until I respawn at the sanc. Does anyone have any idea, I really want to play.

Thanks,
Keam

Start>Run>"dxdiag">Enter

It'll give you your system's specs.

Drop the settings in game on anything you can find to low. Close all programs running in the backround using the applications menu in your Windows Task Manager. Most of the time if its important it wont let you shut it down, so dont worry about the "may cause instability" message, plus everything starts up again when you reset so no permanent harm. Also, i hope you deleted everything before defragging, if not run the defrag again. Also see if you can get a copy of Adware. Its a program that removes things like Gator and other crap you get off the internet that serve no purpose other then to slow down your computer.

If all that doesnt work, its time to reach into your pocket for some upgrade parts. Ram, Processor and video cards are what your looking for. That and a BB connection.

what sucks is that I do have a cable modem, and my specs are plenty good. I am not spending money for something new because of this game. There are plenty people with worse specs then me playing fine.

-EDIT-
nothing happens when i press ctrl-alt-delt anymore. Anyone know how to fix that?

What OS are you running? everything from 2000 on you can use ctrl+shift+esc to get to the task manager.

try downloading every driver for your vid card...
and also pay attention to the sound card....when i play battlefield 1942 with sound hmm in other words i cant play...and when i disable the sound card then its wonderful even with EVERYthing HIGH everything!...so soundcard really makes a change.

Ok, this might sound stupid. But it worked for a friend of mine who had the same soundcard you did. He has a fairly good computer but wasn't able to run anything as far as games go. One day when we were all out of ideas, I tried turning off the sound and playing. Well it turns out, that that's what it was. He's able to play lag free, the only thing that sucks is that he has no sound at all. Give that a try bro, it might work. I'm willing to bet it does. It's won't give you the best gaming expierence, but at least you'll be able to play (less music and sound). You'll still be able to voice chat. In the end who needs that stuff? I'm sure you got a stereo near by. :D

Good luck and I hope this helps you!
(I'm fairly confident that it will.)
