So what do you guys think? There was a whole lot of bickering before the patch, and im wondering how many people changed sides in the arguement. I thought it was a great idea to begin with, and i love what the devs did with it. Large scale battles, tons of Exp, squads working together (ok...well they are atleast together ;) ), its exactly what i wanted out of the system, and it doesnt take away from gameplay at all. The only problem is the lag i get, but thats because my video card is out of date.
Since PSU has been down, i hope this is the first one of these posts.

I think that if they make the NTUs drain faster when the generator is down (like 3-4X current rate) then I would be very happy with it ;)

I enjoy the huge battles.
Anyone else feel that the bigger battles are centered around towers now? They are strategic for take-over, as they are a nearby spawn to a facility you don't control. It seems like the battles are far greater there than actually at the facility.

actually... no.. I find that the toughest battles are aroud the towers, but the biggist I have seen are still bases... norm towers once you push in the door it is all over since you can hack it with ease.... and the masses that I saw on the field assaulting over that huge huge HUGE bridge on that north ice cont tonight were amayzing...
that was the biggist battle I have seen yet by far... 200+ easy (have lots of screens I will put up later), was just amayzing.... then after that cap, we hit the tower next to it with about 60 people vs their forces there.. (I have a very cool action shot in this tower that I will post later)
was very very hard, but after several assaults with multi vanguards and roof drops with the normal inf rush we took it...
much less total blood than the battle over the base just before that.... theough the fighting was much more intence for a couple min there
I think that a lot of times, the tower fights look bigger than they are since all the action is right there and you can see it all, where as the base fights are all over the place in the entire base, so you dont get the entire scope of it all most of the time (being in the air helps that though you still dont see the inside fights)

Yeah we had BIG battles northside of Esamir tonight. I flew into the NC advancing on us. Met a galaxy, 3 reavers, skeeto, vanguard, harasser, various gound troops... I think the most I did was piss them off before I died. I was the first of the VS to arrive :(
My squad was in Esamir SOOOO long we finally left because we were tired of it. Went to Ish.
With all those sneaky vanu trashing undefended bases, we'd have to make ANT runs every 10 minutes if they upped the rate of NTU consumption
Anyway, I'm loving the changes. I'm all for anything that keeps some solo schmuck from hacking an entire freaking continent.
I just wish my comp could handle the huge battles better hehe

I never played the BETA pre lattice/matrix so can't comment on whether it is better, but I think the current way it works is excellent.
However I also get huge lag, in terms of latency - but I am playing form the UK. This game is seriously hazardous to health, and income. I have a planned upgrade soon just to play this game.

I like the new lattice system
It's much more enjoyable to engage in a 100 on 100 fight rather than hunting for some remote base to hack with no resistance that was so popular before =\

I think the lattice is nice... only the decay rate of ntu could need a bit of a twitch, as it is quite slow atm...

I love it...even though I get kind of laggy in the big battles.

So far I like it, I think they added a few too many links last patch. I'd rather see 2 than 3.

Agreed. The battles are great, but they have too many options now.
However, if they ever figure out how to put more thaqn 3500 people on 1 server without it dumping everyone, those extra routes may come in handy to keep zone population lower.

Thats odd, i thought you were one of the people that said it would be to limiting. Well the devs did a good job with it, i havnt found any complaints other then lag.

I was. I also said however that I would actually have to play it before I made my final decision :p
I was actually plesantly surprised how little lag I was getting in the larger fights I found myself in. It was still there to be sure, but nothing compared to last week, the week before etc.
Man this is really starting to take shape. Now if I can just get to BR6 and get that anti-stealth implant going, I'll be ready for my new career in anti-stealth defense specialist

I am really loving the matrix system so far. The definitive fronts it creates and the size of the battles are absolutely awesome. Last night TR vs VS on Ishundar and TR vs NC on oshur were some great fights. I need to start paying attention to the NTU levels more though.. nothing like defending a base for an hour and realizing your NTU level is at 10% and then sending an ant out after it's already too late :O

I was always for the lattice system, but I think they need to make the maps awhole bigger.
Honestly, the thinking man's strategy went out the window. It's now a mad dash to get a hack in and spawn the biggest assualt group fast.
Really. I seen people try to get some plans going, but as soon as they hit the ground running, it's kill or be killed. Push as far as you can, and respawn if you die.
I've played everynight (provided the servers are up), and the true winners of the largest battles were the ones with the largest force, period.
It wasn't won by the smartest or sneakiest. It was who could muscle their way to the cc, and then post a huge guard.
I've seen basses surounded by 4 ams'. They won, don't need ntu's there. 3 more ams were waiting incase one went down.
D'oh, I gave away our winning strategy.
There you have it. That's the strategy. Large forces of AMS'

I liked the game without the lattice, and I like it with the lattice. My concerns that it would be too restrictive and would eliminate the smaller battles (that I enjoy every bit as much as the zergfests) were unfounded. You can still find the backwater, but it takes a lot more looking.

lessershade, i was on oshur last nigth for some of those battles... good lord!!! it was also nice to see TR finally start deploying its vehicles.
As for ant runs, we tried several times and got caught with our pants down tryin' to get back.
man an ANT explodes when its charged.

Last night on Oshur (Emerald, not sure what new name is) my squad was pretty much the only TR there for hours. We ended up taking Mithra, posting a few guards then hacking Jamshid. For hours upon hours it was a constant back and forth battle between us and the NC, who usually had most of the continent.
It was until i could finally cert an AMS did we see other organized squads of TR appearing. By then we were, yet again .. attacking Mithra.

I've always been for the matrix system, too bad i'm not in beta. How's the balancing between weapons now? We were hearing a lot of complaints on how the chaingun was over powered and how the gauss was underpowered, how are the weapons now?
