Please tell me there is a way to ignore a player's chat (Global, Continent, Broadcast, and local).

I was very happy when I discovered this, no more listening to ZProtoss say, "Come to wherever I am and ignore all other continents!"

yup, I have a feeling I'll be shutting of CR5 yammer eventually. Although Jerrith does a great job with it for the TR.

Is that to ignore a specific player, I don't mind the chat, just certain people. Thx for the info though.

What is the point of command broadcasts if they can be ignored?

I dont think there is a way to ignore a specific person (yet)

What I'd like to see is seperate chat channels that you can toggle between like DAOC has. The problem I see with CR5 is after a lot of idiots have it and they start just spamming crap that I don't care about.

Because people cant handle a little extra text in their chat window this feature is going to get nerfed or axed.

edit: I failed to mention, if there are spammers and idiots with global/CR they will be delt with. Remember this is a p2p game, if people abuse it they will probably lose that ability.

I still think the DAOC method is the best way to work it, you aren't turning chat on and off, you are just seperating chat windows. Like in that game people yammered on in alliance chat so damn much it drove me crazy, so I'd just flip to a different channel if it was bothering me, but I'd check in on it every so often to see what was going on.

Another thing they should let us do is change the colors of the incoming text. Broadcast is purple and /tells are white.. that is good. However CR5 broadcast, squad and outfit are green.. it would be nice to be able to change CR5 broadcast to like red or something to make it stand out from squad or outfit chat.

Yea, I agree the color of the broadcast needs to change

The same as the reason above. 1 "commander" who is telling people to come help out where he is, when he/she knows absolutely nothing about whats going on in other areas of the server. All I need is for 1/2 the people at the base we're trying to hack leave because someone else said so.

Then to hear it over and over and over again.

Now if they gave me a seperate window to move broadcast chat to, it'd be fine, otherwise I prefer to see the chat of the people in my immediate area and my squad.

I'm not playing this game for the global aspect of the game. I'm more playing to fight in the battle I am in with a couple of friends and have fun...thus I don't really care to see those messages.

EDIT: Oh and as more people get CR5, it will only get worse.

EDIT2: It's not that ZP was using the global incorrectly, he was within the bounds of acceptable use. I just prefer not to see it and as more get it, it will make it harder to see messages that are important to me. Wait until 100-200 people get cr5, or more.
