what was it that rank 4 had and was taken away? my friend said somethin about orbital strike, whats that?

that would be like an Ion Cannon from Command & Conquer: Tiberium Sun.

Just a big burst of energy from the sky hitting a targeted area.
In PS, its I guess a small radius good damage thing, and has like a few min wait time till using it again.

I thought they just removed the info box about it that you get when you gain CR. I dont think the orbital strike is actually in-game yet

Orbital Strike eh? Think you could be able to pinpoint an enemy Galaxy and zap it out of the sky? :D

the cr4 and 5 abilities were never in the game, they but a blurb of what you should get was. CR4 was orbital strike, better jamming radius, and a see all enemies every 20min option (continent wide). Cr5 is bigger orbital strike and continent wide /b. I hope orbital strike does make it, I love being a commander in this game, but thats just sickly overpowered and will make n00bs who shouldnt be leading try ot lead just ot get it. I'd like to see stuff that actually helps a commander command his units and the units on the continent, instead of things that allow you to kill. Something like being able to call a Hart up at cr4 and have them drop an ams somewhere for you, or use the satallite to redirect nanites into an ant for you or something like that. just random thoughts here

Anyways, I think the ability to have supplies/vehicles/ams dropped to your location would be great, give the commander some actual ability in the field. An orbital strike is interesting, but it's just a cheap superweapon, and shouldn't be for something as low as cr4 or 5. Maybe at cr9 or 10 (if they add those), but there are much better, more useful abilities that should be added at lower levels.

yah i wouldnt want noobs just commanding and being such just to get that.. like delirare said what they should do is just give stuff to help command i like all his ideas

(note for all you commanders out there once your sqaud gets to your set waypoint please take it off it gets in the way of the battle ;) )

ya, they need to make it so that your squad/outfit/etc only see it, and not everyone... I can see 10 spots placed, and no one knows where to go :lol:

and why the hell isnt commander chat used. i sit there spamming it consantly and no one responds unless i beg and plead for hours on end. and then all i get is a laugh or something and get no support or communication. >:|

i want to use tactics damnit, not zerg

because most of the squads seem just to be formed to deal with points and nothing to do with actually working as a squad... I think that the only ones who would respond and work with you on cmd chat would be outfits running around....and even then...

I wish that more people wanted to actually use thought into things that they did, but they do not... I do think that this will get better after a couple months after the game is out, since I htink that a lot of the people that just do zerg forever will start to drop off....

what side/server do you play on?

Okay, from everything I've heard, no noobs are going to get orbital strike. It just won't happen. You have to capture hundreds of bases to get to CR3-5. And I highly doubt it's a superweapon. Probably take an AMS and people at its terminals, but not much more.

hundreds of bases for cr3? i think not. PRE XP changes it took 4-5caps to get cr1, about 7 to 9 more for cr2. About 18 for cr3. Its not really that much, especially now that its easier to get ceps since ALL leaders in the soi get ceps. I really dont want n00bs getting orbital strikes which they very well could with the current setup, people who just invite random n00bs to their group and say lets goto cyssor! or something Then they just tag along with the zerg
