No, it just reinforced my belief that the Vanu are awesome. Personally the TR MAX looks good, but the NC MAX

I have only been really interested in PS for the past week or so and what i've read on the different fan sites and forums have really gotten me excited about the game. As for the new info, i'd have to say that the vanu looks to be more of my style of play, and i will most likely join them.

I like how you can't customize your MAX. It means you won't have AA max's chasing down jeeps (actually you probably will). Hopefully we'll see sqauds of Max's, one of each, and some support guys moving together in the field, that would take some awesome teamwork. Everyone will discredit my following statement because I don't like the vanu, but I think that their MAX is kinda at a disadvantege compared to the firepower and shield of the other ones. That's just me though, I like to get up close and personal.

Welcome aboard. :D

Ditto. I thought, meh so less armor and firepower at least we have the mobility, then Smokey sez the jumpjet is merely a boost up, no course corrections in mid-air or anything...

Nevertheless, I would say that we still have the advantage. We will be bale to reach positions completly inaccessable to other armors, escape from battle far more easily, and conduct surprise attacks.

I'm sure your falling corpses will be very dangerous. Seriously though, with all racial hatred aside i think the Vanu MAX got ripped off. MAXs and mobility don't mix, they just end up being distractions for the more specialized troopers. I mean a few Vanu MAXs hoping over the back wall might cause some chaos, but if just one TR MAX clamps down with a good line of fire, the Vanu have no chance.
one thing the Vanu version will do is become a high altitude artillery platform. Being able to get some elevation and fire down into a camp or base will be an advantage only they will have. Depending on the range of the weapons they'll be using. they can launch straight up from the edge of a base and lob fire over the walls more directly than tanks and quite probably more accurately than most strafing aircraft.
I think saying they got ripped is highly dependent on how smart the guys in the max suits are and how well they know how and when to use that jump capability.
but then, that goes for any of them.

well, we don't know how much less armor the vanu MAX has yet but we'll see how it works out.. personally i don't think it will be much less... atleast not so much that a single clamped down TR MAX can mow them down so fast that they're useless...

Well the Vanu MAX will be able to jump over the TR's MAX and start shooting it from behind. It won't get alot of shots out before the TR's MAX unanchors its self but it will be able to take the lead in a fight.
Plus the Vanu has a Homing Anti-personel weapon does that mean that the MAX can just sit on top of a hill and rain fire on the helpless NC and TR infantry.

All of them seem to have their strong points.
The TR MAX is pretty much how I envisioned it so far. Not a bad thing at all. :D
The NC MAX - I had forgotten about the shield! - is in question. It says it draws this shield from a seperate power source. SO, does this mean that the shield will not regenerate over time, it will, or it will be similar to the shield in Halo (where after a certain amount of damage is taken you are vulnerable, but it will regenerate to full quickly afterward). Depending on how the shield is treated and how much damage it can take will depend on how good it will be. If it effectively raises the amount of total damage that can be taken by 1/3 or more, it will be very powerful indeed.
The VS MAX reminds me a lot of Stratos from Sacrifice. You guys ever play it? Great game, I tell you. Anyway, the thing about using Stratos' forces is that they were thee fastest, second most powerful minions in the game but had little health. To use it effectively, you had to do hit and runs because in straight battle you'd go down fast. For that kind of game, it is very difficult to pull that off correctly without letting your opponent run the entire map. Anyway, back to the point. The VS MAX also reminds me of a ninja style warrior. It'll be much more agile then normal MAXs and be able to take the most punishment of the VS armors (while lower in comparison to the TR and NC MAXs). As long as the pilot behind the MAX is intelligent and is supported by a good team, everything'll be fine... assuming the VS MAX's speed and jumpjets make up for the lack of armor.
I guess what I'm trying to say is while we have a good deal of more information about the MAXs, we don't have enough to say one is better than another. But we already knew that. :p

Hmmm...maybe the VS MAX isn't so bad. :p

 The shinobi guys seem a little too serious about the game. It's freaking insane, have you read that faq that they posted over at the official boards?

Read through about 3/4s of it before my entire lunch break was over. I'll finish it later... :P~
Seems alright to me. Of course, I'm one of those strange people who enjoys such things as this. All my life, I've looked for some type of "clan" or "guild" that I could call my own. A group of tightly knit people who A) want to win and will pursue that goal, B) do not put winning before everything else, C) are less tolerant of blatent cheating then the norm, D) work well together, E) anything else I can't think of on the fly. :p
If I lived in Canadia or Europe I would definitely join this clan... Wait a second, did I just say that? I would FORSAKE the TR over a clan of wackos? ... Yep. :(
The fact that I've found Japanese history/society/lore very interesting has little to do with this proclamation. Little! ;)
I don't see what's so crazy about it at all. :D

they seem to very serious, but naive? they just to want to create a group of friends who are mature and play the game for fun not winning. That been said they are all nuts, but i applaude the effort put forth by them.
