Its our secret weapon :) Ever wonder whot he Vanu were? I suppose it could fit the TR... rule through oppression and all. But all the Vanu talk of leading the unenlightened to their destiny made me think of the Empire. They're apt to create a autocracy quicker thent he TR. The TR will always has some stinkin ruling council or senate around to slow things down.

If you are an American and you believe in the system of the US, then you should be NC. They have the same ideas as the Americans did during the revolution. Except a new factor the VS, but we will just say that the VS are the Indians so in other words:

NC = Americans
TR = British
VS = Native Americans... kinda hehe

This topic is lame. There is on going on in the official forums just like it. Basing anything off these background stories is pointless. If you're basing your choice on an empire off of their beliefs its stupid. When is that ever going to come into play in the game? Everyone isn't going to sit down and have a philosophical debate in the middle of a battle.

As for saying which empire is like which country what's the point? Once again it won't come into play during the game. Getting into the game is fine and all but way too many people are becoming story fanatics with this game.

TR is definately closest to America. The attitude they are taking towards the Vanu Tech is the same as our government's attitude about stem cell research and cloning science. They are a Republic (at least in name), same as the US. Both governments keep big secrets from the populace. The only clues we have that the Terran Republic is even oppressive is in the propoganda of the other two empires.

My 2 cents are that your sig looks cool but is incongruent with the game. It would be better used in a game that actually relates to Star Wars.

BZ, you may not agree with chosing a side based off the story line, but other will. No way to avoid it. The story lines will definitely come into play in game. Just not in a way you seem to think. Each side will, for the most part, attract a certain type of player. PS is a team based game. The more ppl you can get along with in your empire, the more successful you will be. Even if you are in a large clan you will need to call in outside resources. Or even recruit new members. Thus it is beneficial to you to chose a side which has a background story that you like.

umm.. i havnt heard much of the us's government standpoint on stem cell research....


but from what i'm hearing around, it's somewhat split down the middle among the citizens.. and spite what other countries think... we have some controll over our law making body at least(congress)...

though yes, there is a lot the US gov. does that the citizens have no control over if they even know.. but no top secret government agency is gonna shut down stem cell research....


It's the christians or something that are against it, or something, i dont give a damn about religeon since the one i was 'attempted' to be raised into has a lot of ideas I fiercly disargree with(pro-life & raping little boys = ok)

and I believe christianity(or is it just a generic branch?) is also deminishing in the US, as other immigrants of other religeons move in

At least Unreg's Obey gif makes proper use of transparency. Either one would be fine for the Vegas Strip, but they're way too distracting to make sig graphics. Far better to use cliched but subtle techniques than to distract from the post that you're trying to get across. You should just go ahead and use a punch the monkey or X-10 banner.

Besides, you should consider learning the difference between an overused filter and an overused layer effect.

The British burned the White House durring the war of 1812, not the Revolutionary War. The White House wasn't even built until after the Revolutionary war. Anything else in American History you want to know?

no. we were. what you are failing to realize is that when they declared independence from British rule, they became a free country.

whether or not the British recognized the new country or just as their rebellious colonies, makes no difference. they were a new country.

other countries DID acknowledge their independence BEFORE we won that war. The French recognized us as a independent nation before the war was won.

Well actually that's not true. They were fighting for the right of their country to exist. If they had lost the country would have dissapeared but since we won our country was able to exist. Winning a war doesn't make you a country, the fact that they declared their independence made them one.

I suppose that Dio has a point to a certian extent. No one really thinks that the Confederate States of America was ever a country, but they did declare their independance from the U.S.A. and then lost their revolutionary war.

So by American Standards the U.S. was a country when we declared our Independance from England, but the Confedarates were not because they lost their war for Independance.

A bit hipocritical, but hey were you really surprised?

there is a difference.

to the South....they were a new "country" if you will. the United States chose not to recopgnize it just like the British did not recognize the US original.

You CAN claim all you want but until someone recognizes it, it really doesnt matter. The French recognized the US as a free country and then aided in the battle against the British.

nobody acknowledged the South (and it didnt help they lost either)

Technically, the Confederate States was a country. They declared themselves as a country and even had their own declaration of independence. They were a country.

But if you reconsider that kind of logic, that means I can write my own declaration of independence declaring my house as the country of Nohimnia.

The truth is really quite simple. US protects Canada by association and shared land mass. Canada sends the US women (and US sends the occasional woman up to Canada when the woman wants a laugh).
