PlanetSide server question

Greetings,
Just heard of Planetside today. WOW. I have not yet had the chance to read all avail documentation but I have a question about on-line play.
Will the game include a server so I can host a game, or will I have to subscribe to the 'online service' to play online.

This is a pay to play game. You'd have to have a lot of godly computers and an oc3 to even consider hosting(in other words NO hosting possible). Its gonna be around 10-13 bucks a month. Kind of like everquest.

Not sure if this post belongs in this forum but does the game have a single user mode so I can practice offline?
