I'm personaly hoping for there to be an update someday with a line of naval ships. Not like Aircraft carriers or anything nearely that big. But more or less small inland boats capable of travel around the coasts and into the larger rivers that snake through some of the contenants. This would allow for more tactics and new certs to be earned later on when people ask for something new. People could then be able to use a ship/boat to transport a squad around to an area that wouldn't normaly be looked at as a threat because only vanu would be able to cross that river or come from the direction of the coast.
This could lead to several new type of boats to use such as, Transport, Speed/recon, gunboat, minlayer, ect. And naval facilitys next to a beach or and underground water travel "passageway" only accesible to that empire that controls the base that is a short distance from the coast. Any maybe even a new armor mad for amphibious operations.
But before i get ahead of myself i would like to hear what the people of PS think. Please post all comments suggestion and ideas. And take the poll if i post one.
Thankz,

What'd be cool, is a naval base, on the coast, that can make boats and shit, and like the vanu would have hovercrafts that go on water, and are like, 50% speed on land or something, the NC would have subs or something, and the TR would have battleships,

Really i dont think there is enough bases around water for it to help the empire out that much but like other people said it would help a lot of they added like water facilties and all that good stuff

if there was water, it would be an expansion... they would need water bases, etc as well as the new vechs, abilities, etc that would be needed to use them ( also, ensuring the rivers connected on the conts, etc)

Sea would be really good. I'd like to see submarines and huge fleets of battleships but for some reason, I don't think it would work. Just small scale would be good for now.
I see what you mean though, with all the possible certs and stuff it would had a whole new dimension to the game

Maybe if they decide not to have the bases on land they could be off the coast a little bit were you would have to fly in to take it or something like that anyways. But anyways I feel that sumbarines would be as little overdoing it unless they really plan on going completly into it. Which if this game excels and becomes vastly popular could just happen. But I would be more than happy if they just had the smaller vessels with basic feature and some that were specific to the empire. gotta go.

To grow into teh water in an expansion or something but right now I don't think they should add teh water aspect, except for you should be able to go in the water( decent time) and NOT die. I'm not in the beta or tried it so I don't know how long u can be in the water. BUt for teh sub and battleship and what not, I don't think their a good idea until teh game gets under way and we see just how it works.

yeah that would be very fun but we all know wut would happen
they would add in a D-Day landing spot
and that would be fun
i could jsut see the action now happin in my head!
ooo and u know the advanced combat engineer could have a new weapon
some kind of sticky bomb to stick to the hull of a ship and blow it shit
OR
they could just increase the power of the boomer?
I could see large scale water attacks going nowhere in a furture expansion, Its be pretty pointless if they arnt any bases out on the ocean, or on a diff part of the continent accross some body of water. Small scale would be rockz0r. I could see like you and your squad pulling up in a few small landing ships, creating a suprise attack element.

I agree with you completly. I think largscale would take away from some of the better aspects of the game BUT with just small inshore craft it would be awsome. Just a couple small coastal/river vessals to quickly move some units via rivers and beachstrips. Maybe a little firpower but namely just for transportation.

I think small scale naval vessels would be excellent. Moving a few bases to the waterline (or adding) would allow for new vehicle types.
The type I'd see could be a troop transport similar to the Sunderer. Light hispeed like assault buggies that can be empire specific.
A nifty addition to infantry could be frogmen armor that would allow for water crossings. and easier water movement. A cross between reinfoced and agile. Or simply having "scuba" equipment available for purchase through a "water combat" style cert. A great example this would come into play would be the ability to cross the river on cyssor from honsi to gunuku.

they could also have some oil rig type bases out in the water.

With the Water Combat Cert you should get the scuba suit... (same armor as agil but slightly slower on land) a flechette gun (not the sweeper [ weak on land and in water, but only weapon usable underwater]) and maybe something like sea mines... to disrupt water transit.
EDIT: The knives should be able to be used underwater too... except for the vanu knife, it should just electricute the user.:D

Well, if there was scuba gear or a frogman suit, basically anything that allows individual troops to go underwater for long periods of time, the water needs to be more murky or dark. As it is the water is completely seethrough to the bottom really, and in rivers that is just preposterous, you can't see to the bottom of a river over 2 or 3 feet deep. My point is if you could see a squad of enemy troops clearly coming up the river from the coast then your squad could just start at them and it would be like a shooting gallery even if the physics of water are taken into account. The squad in the river would have definitly decreased mobility and their guns might not work in the water instead of gaining an advantage this squad has put itself in a very vulnerable position. In order to take them by surprise the water must be less translucent.
There should also be guns that work in the water and but most normal guns shouldn't.
Just some thoughts.

Yea the water should eb a little darker... and maybe even almost impossible to see into at night. Oh and about the guns not working underwater... a flechette/dart gun (included with the cert) would fix that problem.

sounds like they would need to either modify some maps to have bridgeless islands or make a map of sparce islands.
i think they should have some more unique bases anyways.
like a base on top of a mountain only accessible by air.

Maybe add a little more water on continents, but I dont think too much modifying would be needed.
EDIT: I think it is assumed all this would be an expansion.

ah yes....i it would be an expansion to for another world (or realm in EQ terms)
and it would cost 40-60 dollars for that expansion on top of the 60 you will pay now and the 12 dollars a month.
too much. thats what's making me hesitate to buy this game.
