Well I had the original beta download but no CD key. Now i installed and downloading a 7 hour patch. Probably that long cause me and my brother are both downloading it at the same time! oh well hope the free beta lasts until the end of the weekend...that way i can pull a 48 hour of non stop PS

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH STATION.COM SIGN UPS?!? This has pissed me off to no end. I try to sign up for beta back in December, gives me an error. EVERY DAMN TIME. I've used 4 different computers too. I am downloading from Fileplant right now, but I can't even get a DAMN station name to get a CD KEY - this blows hardcore. :mad:

yeah downloading! I don't think my firewall at this school will let me play it and I need a better video card and more RAM, but I'll try. I'm going to get some new hardware as soon as I'm done with finals. Which happens to be the 20th:D .

I downloaded the beta and installed it.
I logged in and it asked me to subscribe.
When i try to wubscribe it says file is forbideen howe do i get it to work?

Dude, how did you get through the download lines? Any like advice?

Just get on a Fileplanet download line, and close every other window.
Then let your computer sit overnight ro something.
In the morning you should be able to download.

QUESTION! can you get a CD key w/o dling the files? Is it legal to use ones CD's that they got from sony to install the files on another persons comp then use the key to activate it?

I dont understand how you get the CD key..

ok I downloaded the file, I logged in with the station ID.

It pops up a screen asking me to subscribe to planetside.

Then I login with station id again (in a browser style window)

and I get this:


Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /psidebeta/acctkey/pside_beta_acctkeyform.jsp on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Yeah I'm getting the same error message, Sony Customer Service told me that the servers were offline, but I bet that's just some bull answer they give to make me go away. The download count on the open beta is like over 65k now, and planetside.com says they expect a 20k open beta, so I'm sure there's a correlation there.
If anyone is also getting this error message, but then somehow gets in past that damn forbidden screen. please post here to give other people hope. haha

The install program sends you to a fileplanet webpage
that has the account key.

Doesn't matter, because Sony has disable the account
key input screen to stop new accounts.

I just sent an email the [email protected]

address on the beta website. I doubt it will accomplish
anything though.

I had all my friends come over to play Planetside for the first time.

And after hours of agonining they fixed it and I can play.

It is AWESOME. Defiantely worth the wait.

I have a 500 Mhz. PIII processor and the game is still playable for me.
Granted in big fire fights I choke up like crazy but I can still enjoy the game most of the time.

I can't download it, it takes 4 hours to get to 12% and then freezes. Happened twice, and so far i've tried to download about 20 times overall, and 3 times it worked and got to 12% and then froze. Gay fileplanet can't handle the people trying to download it. Bad idea on fileplanet's part to have open beta downloadable from them. Anywhere else that ps beta is downloadable?

But the worst part is, every time I get down to <100 people it bumps me back to "There is a line. Wait? Yes/No", and it's starting to piss me off.
