Art question???

Does anyone know if any of the charecter design guys play paintball? Those Vanu helmets look earily just like my paintball mask. Here: http://www.vanusovereignty.com/manifesto.jsp and here: http://www.jtusa.com/proteus_chameleon.html . Not exactly the same, but the colors and shapes are very similar, even down to the earpieces. That is my best paintball mask, and if that was the case.......wow.......i'd have to think hard about the nc......Nawww just kidding. Cool though huh?

You're right they kinda do look the same. I dunno, the VS mask looks way cooler though.

Since Planetside is in the future, they are trying to get a future type look to the helmets. This is the same for paintball. Many paintball companies are trying to make their stuff look more futuristic and cooler.

Unrelated: Hehe. Anyone ever played Wing Commander 4? They use paintball guns ('autococker) in one of the movies.

Maybe the dev team needs to write a little training ground for PVP vs. the other factions with paintball projectiles. ;)

Yeah I'm probably close. I thought it was a little eerie that there was something in use today, that looks a lot like that armor in the game. I just got back from playing last night and that's what made me think of it, I was cleaning my gear, and looked up - then down - then up and thought holy crap! I guess I'm a loser. Sorry. Where'd I put that black hole. :rofl:

Yeah me 2. I've spent over 1000 bucks in paintball (all worth it), and I'm spending another 600 on a mboard and vid card tommorrow. It's great but it sucks.

the only reasons i never picked up paintball was the cost factor. its fun tor ent occasionally or use a friends spare gun and play tho
